The following Monday was possibly the happiest Monday I'd ever experienced.

Because I got into Trinity.

Oxford had been my dream since god knows when, and I'd always planned to study art at Trinity or some other college under Oxford. Now that I cleared my interview and got into my dream college, I felt my happiness was finally complete.

I couldn't ask for anything more, at least for now.

Archer got into two of the unis where he'd applied: University of Westminster and Falmouth. He chose Westminster.

Katie and Angie got into King's College and Strathclyde respectively. I was elated and so proud of both of them.

We were all going to miss each other too much, obviously. A part of me had hoped at least one of my close friends would attend the same uni as me, but I was being unrealistic. The chances of that happening, when we'd all chosen different paths in life, were close to none.

Archer and I decided to keep things going, and we were determined to make it work. Long distance would be a huge challenge, but it wasn't like we would be in different countries or continents altogether. We told ourselves some people had it even worse than us, and we were lucky to at least be somewhat close to each other.

I could take a three hour ride and visit him every so often. He could do the same.

Only three hours away from each other, I kept telling myself. Only three hours.

On the last day before some of us were to set off for our separate unis, Archer, Katie, Angie, Beth, Dean, Jack, Freddie, Edwin and I had a party of sorts at Archer's house. More than a party, it was a get-together of friends, having one last good time before setting off.

We talked, laughed and played FIFA for hours. Mrs Woods aka Aunt Elaine (yes, I'd finally got around to calling his parents Aunt Elaine and Uncle Greg) brought delicious fish and chips, and a whole assortment of desserts for us, which we dug into without any hesitation or grace.

We clicked lots of pictures as keepsakes, and talked about anything and everything. Finally it was time to leave. Most of us had to wake up early tomorrow to reach our unis in time for orientation.

One by one, all of them left, but I hung around. I somehow didn't feel like leaving just yet.

Archer smirked at me. "Wanna stay over?"

I rolled my eyes. "How can I? I've got all my things at home."

"You can wear my t-shirt."

I flushed. "You know I'm not talking about all that! I was referring to my luggage and books which I have to carry tomorrow."

Archer walked up to me and held my waist. He rested his forehead against mine, as I closed my eyes.

"We'll make it through this time," he whispered. His eyes were closed too.

I nodded slightly. "Yes, we will."

"I'm gonna miss you, Vi."

No. He wasn't gonna make me cry now, goddamnit.

I reached up and kissed him softly. "I'll miss you too. But we'll see each other often, don't worry."

He nodded. "Yeah, as often as we can. Meanwhile, we've got dreams to chase, right?"

I grinned. "Yeah. We've got dreams to chase."
