Alex's P.O.V.

I was woken up by my phone ringing next to me. I blindly stretched my arm over to my desk and tried to find my phone. There was a thud as I knocked it onto the floor.

I twisted my body and reached onto the floor for my phone that was still ringing; damn, this person's persistent. The screen was bright on my eyes and it took them a second to be able to read Alana's name on the screen.

"Yeah?" I grumble, flopping back on my bed.

"Good morning to you too," she chirped.

"Why are you always so happy in the morning? It's creepy."

"I'm sorry" she answered sarcastically.

"Anyway... what did you want?"

"Um. Forgotten."

"Alana! You better remember..." I threatened.

"Okay, okay... are you up yet?"

"What sort of question is that?"

"Alright, you get ready... I'll try and remember."

"No... you will remember. You woke me up when I could have had an extra 15 minutes in bed."

"Stop moaning," she teased. "And get your ass out of bed."

"How the hell di-"

"Alex, I've known you for your whole life... now get ready!" I put my phone on speaker and headed into the bathroom. A few minutes later I heard Alana speak from my room. "You still there?"

"Yeah... just doing my hair!" I called. "Have you remembered?"

"Not yet."

I slid into my boxers and jeans before reaching for my shirt.

"Alex?"

"Yup... what is it?"

"I have Methods today," she moaned.

"That's what you wanted to tell me?!" I exclaimed.

"What? No. I can't remember what I was going to tell you."

"Really? You know that's going to annoy me all day, now?"

"Yeah... it'll annoy me too. Anyway, got to go."

"Okay, bye."

"Talk to you la-"

"Wait! Alana...?"

"Yeah? What?"

"Forgot." I smiled as I flung my hoodie over my head.

"Asshole," she said, hanging up.

"Alex. Why are you late?"

"Um... I- my cat's gone missing."

"Right..." Mr Chance said, raising his eyebrows. "Well, I haven't heard that one before. Sit down; I'll talk to you after class."

I walked across the room, and took my seat in front of Lucas. He gave me a disappointed look.

"My cat's gone missing?" he mimicked. "Really?"

"I was on the spot, alright. Give me a break."

"Whatever," Lucas replied.
