I kept checking the time and hoping nothing popped off we spent most of the day doing case paperwork.

"What's got you on edge?" Ruzek asked walking pass my desk

"Nothing." I said getting up and grabbing my stuff and I knocked on Voight's door

"What's up?" He asked looking up from his paperwork

"I got roll out for bit, I should be back in about an hour." I told him

"Everything ok?'

"Yeah,"

"Alright we'll call if we need you." He said and I nodded and left the station

I kept bouncing my leg as they drew Alayna's blood she looked up and smiled at me, I felt those butterflies in my stomach I get when I'm around her. I haven't felt those since I was a kid

"Alright Dr. Cortez change into this gown and Dr. Bennett will be right in."

"Thanks." She said and the nurse left the room, and Alayna got up and pulled off her scrub pants

"Whoa you want to do this now?" I teased and she laughed

"You perv she has to check my cervix, you can close your eyes if you need." She said then tossed her panties at me, I held the purple boy shorts in my hand

"Good luck getting these back." I stuffed them in my pocket

"Antonio!" She reached for them but there was a knock on the door and she glared at me then got on the table

"Can I come in?"

"Yes." She said laying back on the table

"Hi Dr. Cortez and hello." She said to me and I waved

"This is Antonio my.."

"Her boyfriend." I finished and Alayna smiled at me I blew her a kiss

"Alright let's get this started. Today we're going to check the cervix and do a transvaginal ultrasound so we can get an idea of how far along you are and we're going to get your prescription for prenatal vitamins."

"Ok." Alayna sat back and put her feet in the stirrups, and gave me a nervous smile. I moved my chair closer and took her hand in mine and gave it a squeeze, as the doctor started the ultrasound and the little blob showed up on the screen

"There is your baby, you're 7 weeks so he or she is roughly the size of a blueberry so your due date is going to be around August 15th."

"Wow, this is real." Alayna said then she looked at me

"Yeah it is." I said then I kissed her hand.

"You want pictures?"

"Yes." We both said

"Alright I'll handle that and get your scrips you go ahead and get dressed and I'll be right back

"Thanks Dr. Bennett." She said

"I can not believe this." I said looking at the ultrasound after our appointment we got lunch together in the cafeteria

"It's crazy isn't it?"

"Are you sure you want to do this?" I asked him

"Hey come on we talked about this last night we're in this together."

"I don't know I just thought maybe you were done having kids, I mean Diego's 9 and Eve is 14 did you want more?"

"Honestly I was done having kids but I was also happily married at the time. Now I'm with this amazing women who has flipped my life upside down and I'm crazy about and we're bring a life into the world together."

"I am crazy about you too detective Dawson." I said placing my hands on his cheek rubbing his stubble

"Dr. Cortez." I heard and turned to face Dr. Harris

"Yes ma'am?"

"I need you to cover in the pit tonight for a couple of hours until midnights get in. you will be me in that time do you understand."

"Um."

"Good, do you think you're actually going to see some patients today? Or are just going to hang out here canoodling?" She asked raising an eyebrow at Antonio

"I was actually just leaving, I got to get back to the precinct or Voight is going to knocked me back to patrol." He stood

"Be safe." I said as he kissed me

"Nice to see you again Dr. Harris. See you later." He said then I looked at Dr. Harris

"Something you want to tell me?" She asked looking at the sonogram

"I'm 7 weeks."

"Congratulations, don't let it distract you."

"Not a chance."

"I know just checking, I'll make a note of it in your file."

"We're not telling people just yet."

"Secrets safe with me but work smart, especially in the ER you never know what comes through those doors." She said then walked away

Isaac stood in the cafeteria door and watched as that cop kissed her, she smiled then face Dr. Harris. He went and slipped out the side door and followed the cop to his car, it was a black Lincoln XLS and wrote down the license plate number, he need to know more about the man who was trying to steal her away and he was going to end it.
