Small Bump

Two months later

"Oh my God." I said looking at my bump that bumped overnight, it wasn't this big just yesterday

"You ok?" He asked bringing a box into the room

We moved in two weeks ago and were still unpacking little things

"Look at this!" I said motioning to my belly

"I know my boy is growing.' He sat the box down and came over and rubbed my stomach

"We wont know if it's a boy until 4." I said pulling down my scrub top

"Is it really visible?" I asked and he looked at me

"No it looks like you had a big lunch." He said and I laughed

"Thanks that's the look I was going for." He kissed me

"You look beautiful as always, I think you should just write on your work board. Surprise I'm pregnant! With a box or donuts or something." He said and I laughed

"I think everyone that needs to know knows and everyone else can find out along the way, I mean he or she has to come out eventually."

"Any texts?" He asked and I shook my head

The calling slowed down some days then some others it was too much and because he was using a burner and the call would only last about five seconds they couldn't trace it Antonio made sure I kept my gun on me whenever I left the house and the days he could he'd drive me to and from work. I felt more at peace since we moved.

"You ready to go to work?" he asked slipping on his holster

"No I want to take a nap."

"alright let's go." He said grabbing my bag

"Alright I will be here with the kids at 4,"

"Ok baby." I said giving him a kiss

"Be careful out there today." I told him

"Always." He said then kissed me again, we pulled apart I reached in the back and grabbed my bag

"Who's that?" He said I looked to see he was pointing to Isaac who was out front looking upset

"You remember Isaac, dr. Welsh."

"Oh yeah." He said looking at him

"Down boy he's harmless." I said then got out

"I love you."

"I love you too." I said then shut the door

"Hey are you alright?" I asked Isaac as I pulled my badge out

"Yeah I had a long night."

"Oh hot date?" I asked

"Hardly, so is your car in the shop?"

"Um no why?"

"I was just wondering you usually drive yourself."

"Yeah since we moved into the new house it's been easier to just ride together if we can."

"Oh yeah I forgot about the new house."

"Yeah once we get everything settled we'll probably have a housewarming." I said as we stepped into the break room where Natalie grabbed me and pulled me into the bathroom

"Um hi?"

"Will asked me out."

"Ok and what did you say?" I asked crossing my arms

"Aw look at your bump!" She said rubbing my belly

"Your changing the subject."

"You really popped overnight."

"I know! I asked Antonio if I looked pregnant he said it looked like I ate a big lunch."

"It does I only noticed because you crossed your arms and I do know you're pregnant."

"Yeah now back to the subject at hand what did you tell Halsted?"

"I said yes but you know his reputation around here."

"so forget all of that you like him and he likes you. You're going to go out and enjoy yourself and if gets serious lay down some ground rule. "

"I don't know, oh come on you haven't been on a date in months and I can't force you out like I used to."

"Yeah you went and got all domesticated on me."

"I like being domesticated."

"So we're confirming little Natalie today right?"

"Yes don't let daddy hear that, it's a boy and that's it." I said and she laughed

"He's such a guy."

"Manning, Cortez potty training time is over, it's time for rounds." Miranda said through the door we laughed and headed out
