He sees her differently now. Donatello no longer sees Osa as this shapeshifter he befriended, fell in love with, and married during the apocalypse. For the first time, he sees her as his baby's mother and it scared him to know the risks.

For goodness sake, Vincent almost died, Kristen literally lost her life, Clementine is early on, and now Osa.

Donnie is thrilled and scared at the same time with this news about becoming a father. It was so unexpected. He knew that once he and Osa shared their first time there would be this risky chance but he didn't think it'd be so soon. One time can make a massive change.

As he sits in the chair in his room, dim with candlelight, and looked at his wife from the table, he just stared at her as she slept on the thin sheets. His eyes were watering and he could feel a lump in his throat preventing him from containing his feelings. In reaction to his fear, he slammed his fist down on the table's surface, making a loud thud that woke up Osa.

She gasped, partially sitting up in bed and seeing her husband across the room. "Donnie?"

"Oh, Osa, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you like that..." He said to her.

Osa dangled her leg over the bed, her other not wearing a prosthetic leg. "Are you okay?"

Is he okay? He just found out his wife is expecting a baby and he doesn't know how to truly feel about it. He bit down on his bottom lip and caressed his own face with his flesh fingertips. He's afraid for her and what dangers may come her way because she is protecting two lives instead of one. Donnie got up from the chair and walked to Osa at the edge of the bed, sitting with her, his height still towering over her even as they sat. "I...think it's time I tell you."

She looked up at him while he put his arm around her. "Tell me what?" She whispered.

Don could see the dancing candle flame dancing in the reflection of her eyes, making him smirk at her beauty. He took a deep breath and began to tell her how he feels. "These scars on my face." He took a pause. "Where I got them."

Osa was interested in what he had to say about these mysterious scars and how he got their thickness and great symmetry. She has a deep feeling that these had a gruesome and frightening meaning. Why? She saw the regret in her mate's eyes. "You went through so much..." She frowned.

He nodded and began his explanation about the scars. "The four scars on my left cheek are from a lion and the other two near my mouth are from a group." Donnie says to her. "One night I was walking in a storm and an eerie whistle blew from the darkened forest. First, I saw one, two, then many more. Soon, I was attacked and fought who I could." His breath began to shake at the memories. "Th-This group--"

"Donnie, you don't have to tell me if it hurts this much to say anything." Osa clutched his flesh hand to show him comfort.

"You need to know." Says Donnie firmly. He continues. "This group hunts trespassers like animals-- dressed in cloaks, faces are painted different designs, barbaric weapons made of bone..."

This sent shivers up Osa's spine. "They're worse than the Bendovians?"

"Far worse." Donatello replied to her. "They brought me down, took me to their camp where there were about a hundred or more. These people chained me up to a post in the rain and spoke nothing but Latin." He rubbed the bridge of his nose, deciding that he wasn't going to get too much into detail. "The leader named Triple-Z, or Zero... He recognized me."

"Recognized you, how?" Osa asked. "We know him?"

"He knows me... my brothers, Splinter." Donnie clarified for her. "He and many others of the group were ex-Foot soldiers from New York."
