While Osa waked the hallways of the school this morning, just to check on some of her friends, she ran into Vincent who she hasn't seen in about a whole day. "Osa, oh my gosh!" Vv ran up to her friend, instantly hugging her. "You're married?!"
Osa chuckled with a nod, showing off the ring Donnie had given her. "Yeah!"
"Duke proposed to me!" Vv squealed, letting Osa see her engagement ring, too.
Together, the girls covered their mouths in disbelief. But one question still remained to them; how did the boys get these rings? "I still haven't asked Donnie where he got the ring."
Lately, Vincent has been wondering the same thing. "You don't think the day Duke lost his finger was the day he and Don got the rings?"
Osa narrowed her eyes at her friend, confused about the 'finger' part when it came to Duke. "Duke lost a finger? When?"
Vv rolled her eyes, rubbing her eyes roughly. "Ah, sh*t... There's so many things that haven't been said, then..."
Osa and Vincent are already in the dark about their spouses. They've only arrived a few days ago and the boys are keeping secrets from them. Sooner or later, they will learn the details. "Never mind that, Vincent." Osa patted her friend's shoulder, both of them walking the halls. "How's Bethany?"
"She's good." Vv said with a proud smile and glanced at Osa's ring finger where the diamond ring sparkled in the light. "Are you and Donnie going to have a ceremony for a wedding?"
Osa shrugged at that question. To her, she thought it wasn't appropriate to have a ceremony now that the knot had been tied. "No, probably not." She said. Vincent figured that would be Osa's answer. The shifter didn't seem to be the type to have a big ceremony-- it isn't her style anyway. As they walked and talked, an 'excellent' idea came to Osa's head. "Hey! What if we went out to find you a dress? It's a big city-- there ought to be some stores."
"It would be fun to have a ceremony. But I don't think Leo would let us go out if it wasn't something necessary. Duke probably wouldn't let me out either. I haven't been scavenging since before I had Bethany..."
Osa scoffed. "Donnie smelled like the city when he came back a few days ago with Duke, Vincent. And why is your fiance missing a finger? They've been outside! Let's go, too."
The young mother sighed, unsure of this choice. But she knew Osa was right. Also, she had been itching to get to see the new city they were going to call home. "...Okay. Let me get my backpack and check on Bethany before we go."
Oh, this was going to be a great time. These girls have been best friends since--they can't remember when. It'll be a good time to bond and catch up on everything. Osa had run back to her room to get her pack and met up with Vincent by the side doors that were closer to the gym. Both friends gripped their backpack straps and could feel the excitement rising.
"Ready to go." Vv says to Osa.
"You look ready." Osa grinned, pushing the doors open and jogging out into the school's parking lot. "Got your gun and ammo?" She asked, feeling the morning chill graze her nose and fingertips.
"That and my bow and arrows." Vv replied, jogging next to Osa. "Just because I haven't been out in a while doesn't mean I forgot how, you know."
"Just checking," Osa says, sprinting faster for the outer perimeter or else the guards might see her and Vv. "Keep up, mama!" She laughed.
Vv giggled a little bit as her jog started to turn into a sprint. Pretty soon she was caught up to Osa and she had to admit that it was fun to be out again. "Alright, Osa. You've been out before. Any idea where to go?"
