Looking at myself in the mirror, I gulped, feeling that nervous lump finally go away. For sure, I know it will return once I am at the altar. But as I look at this white dress of mine, I realized that it feels like a lifetime since I have worn anything like this.

Right behind me, my wonderful friend, Osa is leaning against the wall with her arms crossed and she is wearing a dress of her own. She looks so different-- a good different though. Her hair is out of her face, she isn't wearing torn clothes, nothing that relates to the apocalypse. The light-colored dress she wore really suited her.

Donnie and Leo have been coming in and out of the room to update me on how the decorations are downstairs in the Commons, which is great. They informed me that Duke is becoming very nervous yet excited and I don't blame him.

From what I have experienced, everything seems to be going smoothly even with all this chaos. Somehow a little wedding was able to fit into this insanity...

I actually can't believe that I am getting married. It literally feels like I am dreaming nd none of this isn't meant to happen.

"Hey," The door opened right away and I see Donnie shutting it behind him. "It's almost 10:00 and guests are arriving." He said. I nodded, not saying much because I am still in disbelief. My hair is done, my face is washed properly, my bionic arm is 'polished' and I couldn't be happier. "Vincent, are you okay?" Don asked me.

Turning around in my position, I answered. "Yeah, yeah." I glance back at my reflection, feeling the waterworks erupt inside my eyes. "It's just... I'm gonna be a wife."

Ah! My voice is breaking and now I am crying. This is a good thing, this is a good thing...

Osa comes up behind her friend, placing her hands on Vincent's shoulders as the shapeshifter looked at her reflection as well. "Everything is going to be fine and this is going to be a great wedding. I think you know that."

Vv sniffed her runny nose away, wiping away her simple tears and agreeing with her friend. She was just glad that she had an extra 30 to 40 minutes before she needed to walk down the aisle.

This is a gift. There are probably not a lot of couples out there getting an official wedding with actual vows, dresses, flowers, and music. Vincent felt like the luckiest woman alive because this is now a rare event. An incredibly rare event.

Downstairs, the well-dressed groom could feel his hands shaking and his palms sweating. He is insanely nervous, bottled up with emotion and he can't release it until he puts a ring on Vv's finger. He knows he is ready, but this feels like this is the first time he was going to be seeing his girlfriend. Well, more like his fiance.

From where he stood in the Commons he could see people beginning to sit down in the chairs and chat up a storm with bright smiles and laughter. Duke suddenly felt like he was back in the world that used to be alive, the one that almost always had laughter and smiles. Everyone is dressed up their best and not one person who participated in the ceremony looked roughed up or dirty. They could forget about the infected for a day. One day.
