MidnightNorth Side
Vasari is being questioned extensively about his past and motivations for being in this city by Cormac inside the North Town Mall. Vasari states that he was only traveling through when he decided to attempt and contact one of the communities in an effort to start his life somehow all over again.
While he is being questioned, the shapeshifters Abby and Jimmy are nearby to make sure this stray doesn't stir up trouble in North Side or try to kill Cormac. They are standing directly behind him as he is restrained in a chair, strong rope bound around his wrists and ankles.
"Look, I was just passing through and then I thought... maybe I could start over." Vasari explained to Cormac.
When Vasari said these things, Cormac's ears pinned back. Vasari has not made him happy. "But while her husband was defenseless, you let my sister be attacked by infected. You, stray," Core stopped. "Will have an extremely challenging probation." Says Cormac, his wings ruffling up behind him. He watched Vasari lower his head in guilt, knowing he may have risked his credibility to stay in Spokane. "Abby, Jimmy, go ahead and switch shifts with Yara and Jaymin."
Abby and Jimmy leave the room together while Cormac remains inside with Vasari, Jaymin, and Yara taking their shifts to guard Vasari.
Jimmy brushed his hair back as he left the room with Abby. He thinks this is the best excitement they've had since the wedding and the breach outside. "What do you think about the stray?"
The Flight Shifter walks next to her friend, not answering him right away. "Why should I care? He's a stray. He'll be dealt with."
"You're not afraid he could be a threat or if there are more out there?" Jimmy asked.
"So, what, Jimmy?" Abby turned to him, stopping in the middle of the pathway inside the mall. Her tone is firm and intimidating to Jimmy. "Strays are stupid! Whoever was a stray is stupid!" She breathed. "Even if there are more, we'll deal with them."
Jimmy barely nodded his head at her while lowering his ears. Abby has always come across as a hot-tempered shifter who has to learn to control her emotions and stop demanding that things go her way.

Woodward
Honey, and Sammy are having a late-night snack at Central Valley High School, or Woodward as it is known across the city, and they are striking up a brief chat. Sammy pulled her doctor's mask from her face so she could breathe clearly while Honey munched on a stale granola bar.
"Sammy," Honey says, finishing her snack. "You knew Jason was seeing the Arrows?"
Sammy set her mask down on the table and she brushed her hair back from her face. She revealed her scars to her friend in the other seat, not at all embarrassed to show those facial markings to her. "I did."
"Why didn't you say anything?" Honey asked her, her voice quiet.
The young girl adjusted herself in her seat before answering Honey. "Gonna be honest, Hon. Jason didn't say much to me. I said nothing to you 'cause the info you want from me doesn't exist." She paused. "I have questions about Jason, too."
"He said nothing?"
Sammy shook her head. "He was just visiting them. Then, you know... gone."
Honey thought she was going to get answers about her friend, but nothing put her mind at ease. "So, we really don't know why he and the Arrows left..."
"No." Says Sammy.

North Side
Abby is in her room preparing to get ready for bed. Since she lives in the mall, her room used to be called Hot Topic. As she makes her bed and slips on some comfortable clothing, a friend of hers knocks on the outside of the store. "Abby, are you up?"
