After the Leader meeting, Leonardo said his temporary goodbyes to his fellow leaders and went back into the truck with Bayard. When he started the engine, Leo looked through his notes in his personal journal and heard Bay speak. "That went great." He says.

Leo looks up at Bayard. "Yeah. I agree. They're pretty chill." He felt the truck jerk forward. "Thanks for the journal, by the way."

"No problem," Bay said, driving through the ghost town of the city and making it to the freeway where he sped down the road freely, obviously no police in sight. The speeding rules no longer apply. "Each person has a journal for their experiences. Some have other journals for Post Checks."

"What are Post Checks?" Leo asked, feeling the truck decelerate.

"Post Checks are hotspots around the city. Every week, we go to each post to make sure they're clear of infected and outsiders." Bayard paused. "For now, I want you and your people to settle in before joining Post Checks."

Leo nodded. "Thanks."

Bayard and Leo drove for another five minutes before a pair of large steel gates opened up. As soon as the gates opened up, Leo's eyes are filled up by a ton of people and animal mutants walking around the parking lot. Some waved, others gestured with their heads, and some continued to mind their business. "Welcome to Woodward, Leo." Says the man, parking the truck in front of the school and being greeted by a young mutant lizard hybrid with black hair, lightly scaled skin, and a little taller than Leo.

The mutant turtle got out of the truck, watching Bayard greet the mutant reptile that reminded him of Roan and Patience-- he misses them dearly.

"Leo, these are friends of mine." Bayard said to Leo. "Uma Gomez, Sammy Fisher... this is Leonardo."

"Leonardo," Uma says, extending her hand out to him. "Nice to meet you." Then she saw the bionic arm on him, moving like a real one. "That's a nice arm you got there. Infected bite it off?" She chuckled with Sammy, Uma released her hand from the new arrival.

Leo laughed at her, shaking his head. "Luckily, no. It was crushed."

"Damn." Sammy said, her face covered with a 'doctor's' mask. Her hair is light, matching the color of wheat in a field and her figure is healthy and slim. "Sorry to hear about that."

"No worries." Leo said to her. "I've managed since then."

Uma nodded at Leonardo. "Well, Bayard tells me you're new to the city. How's it going for you?"

"So far, so good." Leo said to her, seeing how beautiful her eyes are. He knows that he and Criss have been having some problems but he didn't know he was... slipping away from Criss. He sort of felt terrible for finding Uma... attractive.

"Nice." Uma looks at Bayard. "And I assume you're showing Leo around?"

Bayard agreed with her. "Yes, ma'am. We'll be leaving shortly.

"Well don't us hold you up." Uma says, brushing her hair from her face. "Nice meeting you, Leonardo."

"Yeah," Sammy said. "Nice meeting you."

"L-Likewise, ladies." He answered, noticing he had stuttered. Then, he watched the girls leave as Bayard got Leo's attention to lead him to Woodward's football field. The second he set eyes on the field, it was full of little triages and people stocking tents and boxes. "Whoa."

"This is our outside market." Bayard said, taking Leo down the metal stairs of the bleachers. "We have clothes, weapons, first aid, name it." He said.

Leo scanned the area, liking the number of people and seeing their friendly faces as they worked their butts off. "So, why are we here? Not to be rude."
