Lia stumbled, trying to keep up with the hands that were dragging her out of the car. Cold air stung her skin and crawled underneath her clothes. Her shoes and socks were taken during the car ride, she breathed in deeply when her feet touched the ice cold concrete. She couldn't tell how long the drive was, but she sat long enough for her legs to feel stiff and her back to ache as she moved in the darkness. The sack over her head made it hot and stuffy around her face. Hush whispers were spoken around her but the rush and sounds of many feet shuffling across concrete made it hard to hear.

Hearing a door open, she felt the hand on her arm release and cut her hand free. As she tried to massage her wrists, she was pushed forward. Lia tried to catch herself but her feet couldn't keep up with the momentum, causing her to fall onto her knees. She whimpered at the impact her knees took onto the hard floor. She sat still when the door was shut gently behind her. The only noise she could hear was the commosion on the other side of the door that was slowly fading away.

At first she stayed on the floor motionless, hesitant to reach for the sack. Through the sweaty sack she could faintly smell a fire. Cracking was softly heard in a far distance. Warm air surrounded her, a welcoming feeling compared to the cold outside.

Finally gaining the courage, she reached up with shaky hands, she grabbed the top of the sack and pulled it slowly over her head. She seemed to be in a small back room. The kitchen was on the other side of an open door in front of her. She got to her feet, the world spun slowly as she did. She held the sack and squeezed it. Looking down she carefully eyed her bare feet, besides her missing shoes and socks nothing else was taken.

Looking around, she seemed to be in a cabin. The place looked modernized and smelled of cinnamon. Slowly, she walked out of the small room to the kitchen. It was much larger than she thought.

Her feet were silent as she walked across the kitchen. The kitchen had fresh cookies and trays of assorted fruits and vegetables. She ignored the food as she rubbed her tummy.

It was a strange feeling. It's been a long time since the last time she felt this hungry. The setting and hunger took her back to the restaurant she went to long ago, where she met Vex.

Her head swung around when she heard a noise from the next room. From what she could see and hear, it was the living room. The fire was popping softly, moving her along to it. She stopped at the door. A large couch and a large oak coffee table were huddle near the fire.

A man sat in a seat the farthest away from the fire. She could only see the back of his head. His long black hair was pulled back in a messy braid. It draped off the back of the couch.

"I've never had a human trafficker so desperate to give me free merchandise."

Lia tensed up, unsure how she should react.

The man stood up and turned around. He was holding a blood bag. His fangs were out and fully extended. He looked her over with his lazy eyes.

"Do you know how humans are priced in trafficking?" He looked her in the eyes, his soft eyes flickering red.

She couldn't see the color of his eyes, but the red would glimmer and reflect like when you shine a light at a cat or dog.

Lia shook her head. She felt light and airy, as if she wasn't even there.

The man walked over to a small table that held a couple of clear glass bottles of, what Lia assumed was, alcohol. He poured himself a glass and then poured some of the blood from the plastic bag he was holding. The blood dispersed into the liquid like rolling clouds then mixed in when he swirled the drink around in his hand.

"Most are priced by their purity. Hair, skin, and body never exposed to chemicals or drugs, mind naive and easily molded, and of course their virginity."

Lia felt her heart racing. She was confused and feeling dizzy. Tears were wanting to gather around her eyes. She didn't speak when he paused, quickly growing fearful of him.

"Then sometimes..." He paused to sip his drink, his eyes now dark red. He looked intensely into her eyes. "Sometimes humans have certain genetics that prevents their price from depreciating. They can be passed one from one owner to the next and only increase in price, no matter their condition."

He started walked towards her. Lia stayed where she stood but moved her eyes to the floor. Lia wasn't able to look away long as he cupped her chin and directed her face to his. She brought her hands together, pulling her fingers.

"I could only assume extent of the drama Daisy and Vex had for her to have her dying wish for you to be mine."

He lot go of her chin and rested his hand on the side of her neck. His finger ghosted over her feeling for the large pulsing vein.

"Its a miracle for something so priceless to end up at my doorstep." He quickly raised a brow, glancing over her face. "Are you not aware of your bloodline?"

Lia shook her head.

"Well, not only did good genetics run in your family, disowning family ran in the bloodline as well." He quickly turned back to the fire. Taking a large sip from his glass he settled back on the couch. "I've had snacks prepared in the kitchen. Fetch yourself a large plate and get me another bag while your at it."

Lia was hesitant to move for a moment but when he started to turn his head Lia darted out of his sight and into the kitchen. She struggled to walk, the floors leaned one way then the other. She grabbed a small plate from the cabinet and stacked a couple cookies and fruit onto her plate. The food was still warm and smelled wonderful. Opening the fridge, she grabbed a plastic bag, the blood sloshed around in it as she carried it. Grabbing her plate in the other she shuffled back into the living room. Scared to make him angry.

"For having no previous experience being property, you sure listen well." He eyed her plate as she moved around the couch, "Pretty well for the most part."

Lia set his bag on the coffee table in front of him and took her own seat as far as she could from him. Trying to calm the chaos going on in her head, she could only shrug her shoulders. As much as the food looked appetizing, fear made her lose her appetite.

"Now let me put this simply." He leaned forward, putting his cup on the oak. "The only thing that is keeping me from sucking you dry and fucking you after is because Vex is still around."

Lia let the tears break free as she stared at him. Her breath was stuck in her throat.

"So you be good now, then when Vex passes from the curse, I'll consider being gentle with you." He leaned back in his seat, "Now go into the bedroom down the hall. It'll be on the left. The one with the fancy locks on it." He eyed her, as he grabbed the new blood bag, "I assume your smart enough to know running will only anger me? And this time use your words."

"Yes."

He made a small shooing gesture. Lia was quick to grab her plate to leave the living room.

"I'm looking forward to knowing you better, Lia." His voice was more playful as he spoke aloud.

Lia avoided looking back and shuffled down the hall. Her fingers were gripping the plate tightly, trying desperately not to drop it. By the time she reached the described door her hands felt numb and weak as she turned the knob. Inside, she set the food down. Scared, confused, and hopeless, she did the only thing she could do.

Hide under the covers, with her arms over her tummy.
