Vex stopped walking when he heard footsteps. The light drizzle patted sharply against the leaves and moist ground. The rain muddled out other sounds, but the footsteps he heard behind him splashed and stomped on the path. He turned around, straightening his back. He saw the tall and broad figure walk towards him in a long rain coat. The falling sun cast a tall shadow of the man down the muddy trail to his feet.

James stopped walking and pulled his hands out of his pockets. His scowled at Vex, crossing his arms over his chest. He looked Vex up and down with a raised brow. Vex looked down to himself then back up to James with a shrugged and a small smile. He wore nothing but a t-shirt and shorts. His feet were bare, letting mud slide in between his toes. His clothes were soaked, sticking to his skin.

"A little underdressed for the weather?"

Vex moved his feet, letting them sink deeper into the mud, "I guess your too domesticated to be one with nature?"

James ticked his jaw.

"Its getting old James." Vexs smile fell out to a thin line. "How long are you going to keep this up?"

James began to shed his coat, dropping it to the brush beside him. "I dont know, but remembering what youve done to her keeps me going." James walked closer to Vex to close the distance. His chin raised slightly as he popped his knuckles. "You used Lias vulnerability to your advantage. I would easily belive that you used her suicidal tendencies to get her to mate with you too. Then you let Lia suffer the consequences of your reckless actions. Shes too delicate to live with you and all the trouble you come with." He started stripping his clothes.

Vex grabbed the end of his wet shirt, pulling it over his head. "You underestimate her. I feel like you forget the fact that she had more courage to come find me than you had the courage to help her when she was living in the streets. James, you may be a big dog, but you cower away from responsibility."

James growled as he dropped the rest of his clothes onto the muddy ground beneath his now bare feet. Steam started rolling off of both of them. Vex rubbed his bare stomach, feeling Damian squirm inside him. The moisture on their skin shined a blood orange from the suns beams that peaked through the clouds.

"How do you expect her to defend herself now when shes carrying your baby?"

Vex eyes widened, his feet took a small step back as his chest sunk in. "Shes expecting?" He spoke out slowly in a low voice, eyeing James, seeing if he can catch any sign of a lie in his face.

"You dont know?" James growled louder. Bones cracked and grew, "You are more reckless than I thought!"

James lunged at Vex, sending them both down the hill. Vex quickly changed into his feral form to defend himself from James jaws that were going for his shoulder. Wind rushed around them as they gained speed down the hill. Vex could feel twigs and branches stab into his leathery skin. Together, they tumbled down, hitting trees and rocks on their way down. James was the one to stop tumble, leaving them both at the rocky bottom right next to a raging river.

Vex took advantage when the wind was knocked out of James, jumping on top of James and biting down on his muzzle. With a piercing yelp, James yanked his hands free and grabbed at Vexs jaw. James breathed rapidly through his nose to get the air that he had lost. His eyes blinked rapidly as blood began to bleed all over his face, obscuring his vision. As his claws struggled to pull his muzzle free, Vexs free hands lashed out at James chest. James grabbed Vex with a bear hug and rolled them both into the river.

Vex let go of James when he felt James trying to pull him deeper into the river. They freed themselves from eachother and swam to the surface. When their head bobbed above the water, they saw that they were trapped by the fast waters and steep rocky edges. Vex swam to James and crawled on top of him taking them both beneath the surface. Under the water they grabbed and tried to rip eachother apart, as their hits were useless under the water. Their lungs burned for air, but neither of them were letting the other up to breath. The blood that soaked the water hid the diminishing daylight, making it impossible to tell up or down.
