Vex sighed as he readjusted himself in the chair he was bound to. The tight ropes around his wrists and ankles were starting to rub the skin raw. His throat was dry too from lack of water. His back was starting to get sore from the posture he was forced into, a rope was tied around his neck and down the back of the chair. It kept him from resting his head.

There was no sound. Not from the room he was kept in nor from the other side of the door. For how long? He had no idea.

Through the thread of the sack over his head he could dimly see the light bulb lit above him. The room was dry and dusty, making it slightly uncomfortable to breathe through his dry throat. Under his bare feet he felt a dusty, splintery wooden floor. Since he couldn't keep still, there was a couple of splinters already in his feet.

He tilted his head forward when he heard the door start to open. Through the sack he couldn't make much out by the door. As the two people walked in he leaned back in his chair.

Neither of them spoke. He heard one pull a chair up close to him and the other walked behind him. The one behind him sounded like he was sharpening a knife.

The sack was lifted from his head and in front of him was a familiar face. Her red hair was put up into a clean bun. She wore a black suit with a v that went down slightly past her breast, leaving a large part of her chest revealed. Her shoes had silver buckles that clinked when she moved them. She seemed to get taller every time he saw her.

Vex couldn't help but chuckle.

The woman leaned forward resting her elbows on her knees. Tilting her head she asked shortly, "Miss me?"

Her voice was soft and toxic to his ears. Like it always has been. Her face was calm and her lips were in a thin line. Vex remembered that resting bitch face anywhere.

With a small smile he shrugged his shoulders. "Not much really." He said honestly, "Last time we spoke you were trying to kill me."

He heard the sharpening of the knife again closer behind him but he ignored it and focused on the women in front of him.

The woman nodded, "Yeah, but when someone you trusted deeply suddenly destroys your business and takes one of your expensive products its kinda hard to not want to shoot them between the eyes."

"It's understandable." Vex said understandably.

The woman took her elbows off her knees and leaned back in her chair. Vex hadn't noticed it till now, but there was blood stains in her black suit and some crusted blood on her boots.

She must have been working before she came to visit him.

The woman stood up and started to walk around behind Vex. Vex tried to follow her with his eyes but soon she was right behind him. The stranger that was behind him finally walked around and took the seat in front of him. Vex raised a brow when the man sat down.

Something, the ropes or the chair he was bound to must have been cursed, muffling his senses. He would have been able to smell or feel the other wendigo's presence. The wendigo in front of him was shorter than he was. But he seemed more physically fit and stronger.

He looked rather cocky with the sleeves of his shirt ripped off. He had both his arms with sleeve tattoos. His short dark brown hair was messily styled. He could almost see the wendigo spirit dancing in his eyes.

He guessed that was his replacement.

"Now," she started. She lowered her head down near his ear. "I know you're not gonna tell me where she is. So I'm gonna send my friend here to go fetch your little toy."

The man in front of him smirked crossing his large arms. He flexed them as he did so.

"Well," Vex started, smiling right back to the man in front of him. "She's a little small so you might have to get off your high horse first so you can actu—"

The woman grabbed the rope that was tied around Vex's neck and yanked it back. Vex choked as his head was forced to look up. She was looking down at him with an angry expression with her teeth bared.

"You probably ruined her anyway," she pulled the rope down harder and grabbed something from out of his sight and raised up a knife. Under the light, he saw that it was a witch hunter's knife. "Maybe her corpse will be more valuable at this point!"

And with those words ringing in Vex's ears he watched as the knife suddenly came down on him.
