"It was just a nervous break down," The doctor spoke casually as he flipped through the medical files.

James and the doctor were both out in the hall. The hall was noisy with young teens gathered around a door a little ways down the hall. The teens were scolded by a nurse earlier to clam down and to stop teasing their patient. James wasn't very focused on them, but he could tell that their friend in the hospital room did something pretty stupid. Lia, who was with the nurse, was still in the hospital room.

"I had our therapist talk with her. She has some general anxiety, but physically and mentally she is healthy. All her test came out good." He stopped at one page in the file and glanced over it carefully. "That meltdown you described when you found her is most likely the result from the stress of her being out there on her own for so long. The therapist has been talking to her during her couple days here and she's more than ok, just exhausted."

James nodded, "Will she be ok for me to take home tonight?"

The doctor nodded, "Definitely, just let her take a day or two to relax." The doctors face shifted the slightest when reviewing the pages.

James was just about to speak up when the doctor politely excused himself and walked into Lia's room. James stayed in the hall; the doctor didn't seem keen on him following. He tried to listen to the conversation going on through the door, but the doctor and Lia talked in hush voices. Whatever the doctor told her obviously wasn't good news. He could smell Lia's fear slipping under the door.

After another long while both the doctor and Lia walked out of the room. Lia was dressed in the clothes James bought earlier for her. They were a little bigger than he thought they'd be on her, but she looked comfy. The sweater was more noticeably bigger, the end of the sleeves were scrunched up around her wrist.

She had a small medicine bag and paper in her hands.

Lia was quiet on their leave to the truck. She looked a lot better than she did when she first came in. James was still worried about her. She seemed upset. He expected her to be a little off after the doctor went into her room. She seemed in deep thought, whatever she was thinking about it was enough of a distraction for her to trip as she step off the sidewalk.

He knew part of the reason why she was upset was because he just ended her search for Vex. James has to find Vex, but he didn't think Lia would like to hear that. She knows James doesn't want them together and by law he'd have to take Vex to court and then jail.

She probably already knows that he was looking for him too.

James decided not to ask about it till they got home. He didn't want their long car ride to become awkward. Sadly, the car ride already was.

Lia sat shotgun and didn't have much to say. She sat with her back straight and her two items nicely placed in her lap. James wasn't going to ask anything. He knew Vex might be a soft spot for her right now. He didn't know what happened to Vex but he didn't want to ask that yet either. Asking about the medicine most likely isn't a way to go either.

Damian joined their ride later. James felt him hop into the back of the truck as they were going under a railroad. Lia rolled down her window so Damian can get in the truck and out of the rain. Damian didn't budge and stayed seated in the bed of the truck. Understandable, James didn't want to be near him either.

He certainly could ask Damian, but James didn't know if he wanted to deal with him. He knew he might have to though.

"Are you hungry?"

Lia nodded, "I haven't had dinner yet." She looked to James, "Have you?"

It was strange. James was worried Lia might have changed. He thought Vex would have gotten into her head and turned her against him, but no. She still looked to him with gentle eyes. When she asked if he's eaten he knew she hasn't thought any different of him.
