I'm so bored!
As if answering your prayers of having entertainment there's a knock on the door.
You've been sick for a couple of days now, the doctor said you have the flu.
And it's terrible.
"Honey~ I'm home!"
"Joseph!"
"Hello my friend who loves me dearly."
"Only on Tuesdays."
"Well it's a good thing it's Tuesday, huh?"
"Yep!"
"I brought you..." he sits down next to you, hiding something behind his back, "ice cream!" He brings a bag from behind his back.
"Uh-"
"Would've got you a cone but it's a long drive from the ice cream shop to your house-"
"5 minutes."
He ignores you, "so I just got us each a tub instead."
"Dude I'm sick. Ice cream won't help."
"Who said I was trying to help. I mean you not being at school is just amazing I don't have to deal with you an-"
"You totally miss me."
"Okay maybe a little. You're my only friend!"
"Joseph anyone would pay to be your friend."
"Well yeah but you're the only person I actually like."
"I'm honored to be the only person the Joseph likes."
"It is a great honor." He hands you a tub of ice cream.
Vanilla. Your favorite.
"You're the best."
"Yeah, I know. Still don't get why you like that flavor." He brings out his own tub, chocolate brownie, and hands you a plastic spoon. You take it.
"It's amazing."
"It's plain. Just like you."
"Ouch."
"Love you~"
"So how does it feel to be sick."
You take a bite of ice cream, "terrible. And I'm probably gonna puke this up later."
"As long as you don't puke on me."
"No promises."
"I can't even taste it."
"It's vanilla there's no flavor. Of course you can't taste it, I can't either."
You roll your eyes.
You eat ice cream in silence for a while.
"You might get sick from me." You turn to him, kind of worried about the idea of him getting sick, but enjoying his company all the same.
"Probably. It's fine though, I'll get to miss out on school. Which you're so lucky because of that by the way."
"Yeah. I hate being sick, but schools worse."
"Yes it is! Cheers to that."
You bump ice cream tubs and both take another bite.
"Oh! Sing for me."
"No way."
"Awe but I got you ice cream and risked my health for you."
"Wow. Guilt trip?"
"Is it working?"
"Nope."
"Damn. Worth a shot."
You laugh, "sure."
"C'mon what's the harm? Plus don't you like your ice cream a tad bit melted?"
"Not melted just soft."
"Sure. Go sing. Your ice cream is hard."
"No it's not."
"Please? I'm so bored. You bore me!"
"Ouch. Fine. Uh, what song?"
"What about the song by Lewis Capaldi. The one-"
"I can't go that low."
"You don't know what song it is!"
"Yeah but his singing voice is deep."
"Fair. What about... oh! That song from The Flash."
"I love that one!"
"I know right!? And that scene was so cute!"
"Yessss!!!"
"Alright do it."
"Uh okay uhm.
Can't say how the days will unfold.
Can't change what the future may hold.
But I want you in it.
Every hour.
Every minute."Joseph sniffs, "I can practically see the scene. It's beautiful."
You roll your eyes, "This world can race by far too fast.
Hard to see while it's all flying past.
But it's clear now.
When you're standing here now.
I am meant to be.
Wherever you are next to me.
All I wanna do.
Is come runni-"You abruptly stop as you puke.
"Ah! Oh my god! You just..."
"I'm so sorry."
He stares at you for a second, processing what just happened.
You had just puked all over your best friend.
He bursts out laughing.
