"So it's called 'catan' and despite what y/n is saying it sounds fun."
"He's lying it sounds terrible."
"You guys hear something? Anyways..."
He goes on and on about the rules, of course you only pay half attention.
And then the real torture starts. You're brown, Joseph threw it at you saying it matched what you look like.
Hermione sets down first, then Joseph, Harry, you, and lastly Ron.
Poor Ron. Though, you all use the snake method that time. Which in that case it goes Hermione, Joseph, Harry, you, Ron, Ron, you, Harry, Joseph, Hermione.
Anyways, the game seems to last forever until it's your turn again. And you can win, mattering on how this turn goes.
The dice roll to a 12. Useless, of course. None of your settlements are on a 12.
"Ughh. I need a stone, anyone have stone?"
"Yes I do." Joseph replies.
"Oh great! What do you want for it?"
He snorts, "I said I had it not that I was trading you."
"Thanks. Harry?"
"Oh I'd love to trade you. One problem though. I have no cards!"
"Dang it."
Hermione giggles, she doesn't have stone. You know that much for sure. You might've been following her every movement the entire game.
It's not exactly your fault it's just she's... well her. There is no explanation for it.
"Ron?"
"Don't have any sorry."
You sigh, "I didn't want to do this to you Joseph," he lets out a dramatic gasp as you flip over your development card, it's a knight, "but I request you give me your stone."
"Never!"
"Then I shall cripple you!"
You're actually surprised that Hermione, Harry, and Ron stayed for the entire game. It lasts, usually, about 4 hours.
This ones been going on for 3 only, but you and Joseph are probably not helping the situation.
Since you're both very competitive.
You're the 'banker', and at times just refuse to give Joseph his resources.
He refuses to ever trade with you, not once has he actually traded with you this game. He's traded with the other three, but not you.
You purposely make sure to only steal from him when the robber is moved, he does the same.
Honestly you two are a complete nightmare to play with.
You go from friends to enemies once the game starts, it's completely normal for you two.
But for the trio you're with, it's probably confusing.
"I place the knight... on your eight of wood!"
He gasps, "no! My wood! I needeth it!"
"Your cards!"
He turns to you with a over dramatic glare, but pushes the cards towards you, "here. End my misery!"
You choose a random card, it's a sheep. "No!"
"Yes! Hahaha! I am victorious!"
The trio is simply staring at you two as if your insane.
You clear your throat and shift, slightly uncomfortable, "Ron, it's your turn."
He closes his gaping mouth and nods, rolling the dice.
It's a 7.
He moves the robber, Joseph sends you a grin, to Harry's only source of wheat.
And then takes one of his cards.
He buys a development card, having gotten Harry's only wheat.
Then it's Hermione's turn. She smiles and rolls the dice.
It lands on a 6. She gets a wheat, a stone, and a sheep, since she has a settlement on all three sixes.
Harry gets a sheep, that being his main supply of resources. He's losing badly, by the way.
So is Ron, Hermione, and Joseph.
Honestly you're the furthest ahead.
Or so you thought.
"Joseph do you have any stone I can trade you for?"
"Yep. What will you give me."
She hands him two cards, he takes it and nods and then hands her the stone.
She smiles and upgrades two settlement.
"I win."
"You only have 8 points, you need 13." Ron points out.
She points to her largest army card, and then flips over three of her other development cards, which are all victory points.
"Holy shit she wins." Joseph replies.
"Huh."
"I'm just still surprised the game pieces don't move on their own." Ron says.
"How the hell would they do that?" You nod in agreement to what Joseph said, also confused.
Hermione seems alarmed, as does Ron, but Harry's the worst of all of them.
He looks like he was just caught committing murder, "he uh he meant... we gotta go!" And with that the three of them run out of your house.
"Huh." You're personally confused by what just happened, but when you look at Joseph he just looks slightly annoyed.
"What? They didn't even help us pack up the game."
