Chapter 25

"I wonder what's taking Ron so long." Hermione says, a faraway look in her eyes.

"You like him, don't you?"

She was alert immediately, "w-what? No!"

Harry breaks into laughter in response.

She huffs and kicks him under the table, he winces in pain and she breaks into laughter instead. He grins.

Hermione had said something about some 'good looking' muggle and Ron's fist had clenched so tightly that they turned white.

And then he claimed he needed to use the bathroom and walked off.

Harry turns to see Ron walking back towards them, he grins.

"Y/n!"

What?

He turns to look near the front door. Y/n was standing there, staring at him and Hermione with her hands hanging limply by her side.

She looked shocked and kind of scared.

And very embarrassed.

Why does she look scared?

His heart had started to beat faster at the sight of her.

Hermione kicks his leg again and he glances at her, she was grinning wide and suggestively.

He quickly sends her a glare but gets the message all the time.

Go talk to her.

So he stands up and starts to head over towards her.

But her friend, Joseph, steps in front of her. Protectively so.

"Uh I-"

"Nope."

He's quite confused.

He turns to look at Hermione again, for help.

But Ron had sat back down and they were talking again. Obviously purposefully ignoring him to make sure he doesn't wimp out or anything of the sort. So he can't keep looking at them and begging them to save him or ask for help.

Harry attempts to take a step past him, to his right.

But Joseph blocks his way again.

"Okay...? Hey y/n."

No response.

Joseph's taller than him, he looks about six feet and muscular.

He could easily beat the crap out of Harry.

"Can I talk to her?"

"Sure." He casually steps out of the way.

"Joseph! I told you to-"

"Hey."

She turns and hurries out the door.

"Is she okay? She looked... scared...?"

Joseph snorts and jogs off after her.
