"Harry James Potter!"

Harry turns to see Hermione, "yes...?" He sounds like he just got caught for doing something bad.

He didn't actually do anything wrong, just ran away from a date.

Which hanging out at the park in the middle of the night was a lot more fun.

"Why would you run away!?"

Ron shrinks back from her, just as scared of Hermione as Harry is.

She is quite terrifying.

"It was awkward."

"And!? You should have said something then! Not just leave! And where were you the rest of the night. I was talking to the Dursley's and they said you snuck into the house at 2 in the morning!"

"'Mione! Calm down. If I had told you it was awkward would you have let me leave?"

"No! I would've tried to make it less awkward."

"Leaving was less awkward."

She glares at him, but changes the subject, kind of, "well, where were you after that?"

"With y/n."

Hermione perks up at this with a grin, "so you did finish the date?"

"Nope. We just hung out at the park the rest of the night."

"Then go ask her out again."

"No."

"What? Why?"

"It was just... not comfortable and I do not want to do that again. So right now I just want to be her friend."

"Just friends? But Harry! She's your soulmate, at least according to the spell."

"Meh."

She stares at him, "so I really came here for no reason?"

"You got me a new friend..."

"And we met Joseph." Ron adds, speaking for the first time.

Hermione lets out a huff, "fine. Well where does she live."

"Why?"

"So I can at least force you guys to hang out. Come on, we're going to her house."

"'Mione I don't think-"

"Harry. You dragged me all the way out here to ask a girl out and then you became a wimp and decided to just be her friend. So now, at least, you are going to hang out with her. Plus I suppose she could be your platonic soulmate."

"Fine."
