Just outside Copenhagen, 1985

Grace Wingham's suspicions of her husbands work had only grown as the two got ready for bed. After making sure that her husband was fast asleep she slipped out of her bed and as silently as possible, made her way down the big wooden staircase, walking much softer than she had earlier that day. She went back into her husbands office to find that the sheets of paper that were once spread about the desk were gone. She walked around the desk to the draws and found that they were locked. She reached her hand into her hair and produced a pin. She slipped it into the key hole and expertly moved around. The lock clicked open and the Englishwoman opened the draw. In it was a plastic wallet. She took it out and read the paper in it.

The paper described a poison that would result in her husband being able to rule the world. A poison that would be able to kill anyone or anything in the world, no matter how they came in contact with the liquid. As she read it, she couldn't believe what she was seeing. She didn't realise that her mouth had fallen agape with shock.

"Bloody hell," she reacted before closing the draw and folding up the pieces of paper. She slipped them into the pocket of her dressing gown and ran upstairs. She went into the maids room and woke her up, "Ana, wake up."

The woman woke up and opened her mouth to speak before being shushed by her employer, she frowned and listened.

"I need you to get dressed and go and get Astrid. We have to leave." Before Ana could reply, Grace continued, "I'll explain in the car. Just get changed, pack some milk and food and drink for the car as quickly as possible and go and wait in your car, I'm gonna pack for myself and get some money. I'll explain, I promise."

Ana nodded and got out of bed. She quietly made her way into the nursery next to her room as Grace silently went back into her own bedroom. She saw that Lucas was still asleep and sighed in relief. She went into her closet and put on a pair of jeans a t-shirt and a jumper, as well as shoving some spare clothes into a bag. She made sure that the paper she had stolen was in a safe place in her duffel bag. She hoiked the bad over her shoulder and left the closet just as silently as she had entered.

She took one final glance at the man she thought she loved before exiting. She went downstairs and into her own study, where she kept the family's finances. She took out a giant wad of cash and stuffed it into her duffel bag as well as her credit card. She opened another draw to reveal a gun that her paranoid self had come in possession of and left the study after taking a deep breath and composing herself.

She reached the front door and went to open it, but was stopped by a familiar voice.

"Where are you going?"

Grace froze and slowly turned around to see her husband stood at the top of the staircase. She struggled for an answer as she watched the man walk down the stairs and slowly approach her

"I'm leaving."

"Why ever would you do that?"

"Because..." she shook her head, "you're a bloody psychopath, and, I can't believe I ever fell for your stupid loving disguise."

"What the hell are you talking about?"

"I've seen it," she said, "you're little notes about your poison, and I have it. And I'm leaving."

"You are, are you?"

"Yes! And I'm taking Astrid with me."

"Where will you go?"

"Anywhere," she sighed and lifted up her left hand, with her other hand she yanked off the wedding ring that sat there and chucked it in front of Lucas' feet, "And you can't stop me."

"My dear, you're gonna have to try harder than that." he stepped forward but was stopped by Grace reaching into her bag for the revolver and aiming it at him.

"I don't want to kill you, so just let me go and there won't be any blood to clear up." her hand became shaky so she dropped her bag and steadied the gun with her other hand, " just let me go."

Lucas slipped his hands into his trouser pockets and shook his head. He chuckled, "you can go, but before you do, I want you to know that I will find you and our child, eventually. No matter how long it takes."

Grace picked up her bag and left the house swiftly to join Ana and her daughter in the car.
