Zoe’s POV.
*2 Weeks Later*
I was woken up by the sound of my ringtone. I panicked a little, as it could be Alfie. Ever since the weekend he slept at mine, I’ve been having a lot more panic attacks. He makes me feel safe. I need him. All of a sudden I realised I should pick it up. The name of the caller was Tanya.
“Hello? Tan. Is everything okay?”
“Hey Zoe. It’s Jim. Tanya has gone into labor. She wants you here.”
“Okay. How am I meant to get down to Brighton before she gives birth? The next train wont be until 6 this morning.”
“We’re in London Zoe. Visiting Tan’s friends.”
“Right. I’ll be there as soon as possible.”
I quickly put on some clothes, no makeup as it was not necessary. Grabbed my phone, and keys, and headed to my car.
Once I got to the hospital, I went to the desk and said:
“Hi. What room is Tanya Burr in?”
“I’m afraid Tanya is giving birth, and no one is allowed in unless said, or close family.”
“No. This isn't right. Jim.. her husband. Just called me and informed me she was in Labor and she wanted me here for the birth.”
“I’m sorry Ma’am.”
“I’ll call him.”
*call*
“Jim. The lady here at the desk needs your proof that I am wanted in the room. Can you come down and get me?”
“Of course Zo. Be there in a minute.”
Jim came running out of the elevator, and dashed over to the desk.
“Hi. I’m the fiancé of the person giving birth. She wants her best friend here for the birth of our baby.”
“Okay. Congratulations.”
Jim grabbed my hand, and guided me upstairs, into the room.
“Hey Zoe.” Tanya smiled.
“Hiya. How are you holding up?”
“Fine. They said i’m one centimetre away. Oooohhhhh, AHHHHH, EEEEEEHHH!!!” Tanya yelled as she turned red.
“Tan. Relax. Breathe. Breathe. Push. Push.” Jim gently whispered.
“WAHHHHHH!!WAHHHH!” The newborn baby cried.
