Part 62- Death.

Alfie’s POV
I head over to where Tan is talking to the doctor. As he left, Tan burst out into tears. She put her face in her cupped hands to hide the tears.

“Tan. What’s wrong?” I asked her.

“I….I…I..Ask the doctor. I don’t know what to tell you.” She cried. All of a sudden I got this big lump in my throat; what in the world happened?

I ran over to the doctor that had just been talking to Tanya.

“Excuse me.. Hi. I’m Alfie Deyes, and I’m Alexander’s dad. Is there any new information you can give me?” I asked.

“Well Alfie Deyes. It’s really unfortunate I’m having to tell you this, but… But… I’m afraid Alexander has passed away. We did all we could. I’m so sorry for your loss.” He said. I gulped and felt tears forming at the back of my eyes. As soon as he left I cried, harder than ever before. I screamed:

“WHY!!!?? WHY!!?” I fell to the ground and started hitting the ground. I continued screaming, and crying. I saw Tanya running over to me, and she held me tight. We sat there for hours just crying, and hugging. I decided I’d call Zoe to tell her I was coming home. I switched on my phone and saw I had 10 missed calls from Zoe, and 21 from Jim. I immediately called Zoe as I was a bit concerned.

“Zoe?”

“Alfie I’ve called you 10 times!”

“I’m sorry I fell asleep and—”

“And what?”

“Nothing. What is it?”

“Am I not allowed to call my fiancé?”

“Yes but is there anything urgent cause I’m about to come home.”

“Why are you sniffling? Have you been crying?”

“Zoe I don't want to talk. I’m coming home.”

“Alfie. What happened? Is Alex okay?”


“Little One. I’ll see you in 10.”

“ALFIE!?”

“Bye.”

Tan went home, so I headed off back to the house. When I unlocked the door Zoe came running up to me. I picked her up and span her round. I passionately kissed her, and put her down.

“Where’s? Where’s Alex?”

“Zoe.”

“What?”

“Sit down.” I said as I grabbed her hand. We walked over to the couch and sat down. I took in a deep breath and began. I explained everything to her about the surgery they tried, and then it was time to tell her.

“Zoe. Alexander no longer has a beating heart.” I softly said and I burst out into tears as well as Zoe. She stood up and picked up her drinking glass. She threw it on the ground and ran up to her room. My life is incomplete without Alex.
