Part 20- We can do this.

Alfie’s POV

Zoe and I met back up at Starbucks, and sat down for a drink.

“So? What did you buy?” I asked.

“Nothing much. A few tops from H&M, and medicine from the pharmacy.” 

“Cool. Now Zoe. Be honest here. Okay?”

“What’s the question. And okay.”

“A fan came up to me about 5 minutes ago and said: “I’ve just seen Zoe, and she said you’d be about. She told me about Zalfie, and your secrets safe with me.”” 

“Yeah. She was bugging me, and she had examples, and Alfie, you know it’s hard.”

“Okay and then she said: “She was in the pharmacy buying a pregnancy test for Tanya.” Tan is already positive she’s pregnant. Why were you buying another one?”

“She wants to double check.”

“Bull shit Zoe. Bull shit. Why were you buying a pregnancy test?”

Zoe started to burst out in tears, and I felt bad for cursing at her. 

“Alfie. I have missed my period, and I have been vomiting. Those are 2 main symptoms of being pregnant.”

I was speechless. Had Zoe had sex with someone else. How could she be pregnant, we always wore protection apart from our first—. Shit. 

I put my face into my hands, and tears began to form in my eyes. I don't know if I am ready to be a dad. 

“Alf. I am sorry I didn’t tell you. I’m not sure yet though. I’ve still to take the test. Will you stay with me if I’m pregnant, or are you going to go run off to Alex?”

“Zoe. I said not to bring Alex back up ever again. And little one, I’d never leave you. Even if you had cancer, and had 2 down syndrome kids, i’d always love you, and those kids. I love you Zo.”

“I love you too Alf. Should we go back now?”

“Yes. Of course. But tonight we’ve got dinner on the beach with Tan and Jim. Tonight’s the night for them.” He winked.
