Zoe’s POV.
I looked up at Alfie as we were walking to the reception.
“Alf?”
“Yeah.”
“Do the group of fans that help you know I’m pregnant?”
“No Zoe. No they don’t.”
“Okay. When will we tell them, and the rest?”
“When we’re ready, and your bump’s more visible. Don’t worry about it.”
We walked to the reception to book our next appointment. While I was waiting on Alfie doing that, I walked over to the waiting area, and sat down. Once Alfie was done, he came over and sat beside me.
“Let me feel our child. Has he or she kicked yet?”
“Not yet.”
Alfie placed his hands on my stomach, and rubbed along the sides. He put his ear to it, and listened for any movement.
“Not yet little one. But soon.”
“AGHHH!!!! OMG! ZALFIE!!!!!” A bunch of unfamiliar girls screamed.
They didn’t look like Alfie’s helpers. Shit. I became dizzy, and started to close my eyes.
“Alfie. I need to go home. Hurry!” I screamed. Alfie grabbed my hand, and lead me through the crowd of girls going from the reception, to our car. Once I was seated, I buckled up and turned on the engine. I sat. I couldn't drive in the state I was in.
“Alfie. You need to go and talk to them. I’m not ready to tell the truth. Do something… Please.. For me, and the baby?”
Alfie unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the car door, and slammed it shut. He stood on top of the car so everyone could see him.
“Listen up!” I could faintly hear him inside the car.
“A lot of you may have seen me listening to Zoe’s belly. Before you jump to conclusions, or spread rumours. NO SHE IS NOT PREGNANT. I AM TOO YOUNG TO BE A DAD, AND ZOE IS TOO YOUNG TO BE A MUM. So please. Don’t be those 50% of our fans who we hate. I was listening to her stomach rumble because we were at the hospital, and were there to get medicine. She has a horrible stomach flu. I don't know how you all knew we were here, but I hate to say this. Zoe and I need personal space. We hate it when you guys know where we are 24-7. IT KILLS US. We have to watch out everywhere we go, if we want to kiss. At the moment we don't want to share our relationship with you, because the feedback we’ll get, will be horrible. Zoe and I now live together, and that’s because we are at that stage in our relationship. I’m sorry, but we’re going to take a week off the internet because of this. So your fault… not ours. Have a nice week.” Alfie jumped off the car, and climbed back in, slammed the door, and let out a big sigh. I began to cry.
“Zo. What’s wrong?”
“YOU SAID I WAS TOO YOUNG TO BE A MUM, AND YOU WERE TOO YOUNG TO BE A DAD. THIS TELLS ME YOUR NOT READY TO BE A DAD.”
“Zoe. I didn’t mean it like that. I was trying to make up excuses, and that’s all I could think of.”
“So you thought of it, because thats what you believe?”
“NO! Zoe. I love you, but I have to make up lies to keep you from the hate.”
“Yeah. Cause it’s all about me. It’s not Alfie. I know how to take care of myself. Just. Just. UGGHH!!”
“Zoe. Please calm down.”
“You know what Alfie. NO. I’m going to Tan’s, and I’m staying there until I can face you again.”
“Zoe. Stop. Let’s go back to ours, and relax. This was all a mistake. Please. This isn't good for the baby.”
“Fine.” I rolled my eyes. Alfie started to sniffle, and his eyes were all watery. I felt bad for what I said, but a pregnant woman has strong hormones, and he is the one that should deal with it.
