Waited for so long....(1/3)

Last leg

Josh POV

Today is Colleens last show. I thank god that she made it through. She is very emotional today because I think she knows this may be her last one ever. She won't want to be away from her kids so touring will not be an option anymore. She is also emotional well because she is now 21 weeks pregnant and tired. I rub her feet every day because she is in agony. Her little skinny legs are carrying so much more weight. I hear the bathroom door open behind me in our hotel room. She looks at me and then walks over to the bed. She flops into it. "Babe its 10am. Go back to sleep for a few hours" I suggest. She nods. I cover her and sit and watch her sleep. I am soooo happy we are going home tomorrow. I start thinking about taking her away for a week to relax. I jump onto my computer and start searching. I look at Hawaii because it is her favourite place. I decide to wait until we talk to her doctor and I ask her approval before I book it. Her appointment is in two days.

Colleen POV

I finally wake up and I am so happy this is my last show. I am tired.

My dressing room is in the basement of the theatre. I finish getting ready for the show and I walk up the stairs with Josh to the stage door to do the show. I feel exilerated all of a sudden with a burst of energy. I know this may be my last show ever. I walk off the stage after ending the show and start to make my way down the stairs to the dressing room to sit before the meet and greet. Josh and Rachel are 10 steps ahead of me chatting. I suddenly catch my Croc on the stair and I start to tumble. Its like I am in slow motion. I try to grab the handrail but miss it so I put my hand out to break my fall.  All I can think of is Lilly. I scream and Josh and Rachel turn around and panic sets in as they start to run up the stairs to me. I hear my hand crack as it braces my fall against the stairs. My side hits the stair edge and I wince. Rachels legs stop me from tumbling further. I am balling. Josh and Rachel are crying. Rachel gets on her phone to call an ambulance as Josh sits with me not wanting to move me. "Babe how did you fall?" Josh says. "I tripped" I say while crying. "Did you hit your stomach?" he asks worriedly. "No my side and I braced my fall with my hand" I say. "Oh my god Lilly!!!" I start crying.

Josh POV

I should have had her hand going down the stairs is all I can think when the paramedics are loading her into the ambulance. Rachel has run out to tell the fans of the accident and that Colleen is gone to hospital. I sit beside Colleen in the back of the ambulance crying while holding her uninjured hand. We get to the hospital and they take her away from me. I sit and wait. I am exhausted. I am crying. Finally shortly after Rachel arrives to the hospital the doctor calls me into Colleens room. "Hi Baby!" I say to her as I kiss her forehead. The doctor tells us that the baby is fine and that if Colleen hadn't have braced her fall the baby or Colleen may have been more injured. He explains to us that Colleen broke two bones in her left hand but she will need a cast for 3 weeks. I look at Colleen and she is crying. They cannot give her more than Tylenol for the pain because of the baby and her hand is super swollen. So they set her hand and as we walk out of the hospital Colleen says she wants to go home tonight instead of tomorrow so I call the airline and switch all of our flights for a flight which leaves in 4.5 hours from now.
