Josh POV

We have been home from our trip to Hawaii and Georgia for a week. We had a wonderful time. Colleen came back so relaxed which was my total goal. I was happy cause she was happy. She is getting bigger everyday as she is 31 weeks. She has made an appointment today with the midwife to discuss options. The midwife came to our house. Colleen walked her into our living room and they seemed to be hitting it off from the moment she walked in the door. Colleen had gotten a copy of her medical stuff from her doctor to show the midwife so she had 100% of her medical information. Colleen introduced me to her. "Sam this is my husband Joshua" Colleen says as I shake her hand."Nice to meet you" I reply. We all sit down and Colleen starts discussing why she thinks she wants home birth. Sam then starts giving us information and her credentials and that she has delivered tons of babies over her 15 years of being a midwife. I ask my questions about if there is an emergency what happens and Sam gives me all the answers. She also states that we choose if we want to go to the hospital part way through if either of us start to panic. Honestly though she puts my mind at ease. She tells us we should learn lamaze to help with relaxation techniques for the birth as well. Colleen nods and says she has already started looking into them. Sam leaves and I hug Colleen. "What did you think?" I ask her. "I like her. I am comfortable if you are babe" she says. "Okay it is up to you but just so you know if I feel you are in danger during birth I will call an ambulance " I say. She nods and hugs me.

Colleen POV

I can't believe MR.Overprotective is approving this. I am so happy he is okay with it. I cuddle with him on the couch and start talking to him about lamaze classes and getting the nursery ready. We have already painted it pink the week after we found we were having a girl but we needed a crib etc.I ask if he wants to go shopping for some stuff. He nods and we walk out the door. We buy a beautiful crib and dresser and change table. I cry as Josh puts its all together and hangs his brothers painting he did for Lilly."Why the tears babe?" Josh says as he hugs me."I can't wait for my girl to be born so I can hold her" I say. He hugs me and says "All we need is the stroller and car seat from our parents". My mom already told me that she is buying us a stroller and Joshs Parents are buying us a car seat and booster seat for when Lilly is older. I am over the moon.

The next day I phone Sam and tell her we are going to go with her. She says she needs to come over and do an assessment of me for her files and she books appts with me for later today for the initial assessment, and one 4 weeks out and then every week leading up to the due date. I tell Josh that Sam will be around in a bit to do a physical assessment to start a file for me. He nods.

About an hour later I answer the door and its Sam. We walk back to the master bedroom and she starts writing out her forms taking my name,age,weight and medical history. She takes my blood pressure and pulse. She then asks me to lay down to check heartbeat of the baby. She brings out her portable machine and I hear the swish sound of the heartbeat. She writes some more stuff down. She then tells me Lilly is transverse. Which means she is upside down but because I am only 31 weeks she has lots of time to turn but she will keep an eye on that. I start to worry now. I am not telling Josh as he will panic.
