Shower her with Love

JOsh POV

We arrived at my parents house and Colleen slowly waddles up the driveway to my parents front door. They just smile as I help her up the steps and into the living room. "Colleen you look amazing!" my mom says. "You are all belly" she adds. "Thanks!" Colleen says. "I am loving being pregnant. Its been so easy" and Colleen starts laughing. I add "Ya right! I think I have lost over 100 hours of sleep, gained a bunch of grey hair and have had a few panic attacks. If this is easy then I don't want to see difficult." I say and we all start laughing. My parents ordered in BBQ to the house. I asked them too because I knew it would be too much on Colleen to get back in the car to get it. Colleen is so excited and I don't think she even talked during lunch. My dad turns to me and says "I guess there is no dinner conversation anymore" laughing. I smile and nod. "She likes her food" I say. Colleen look up and says "Hey as soon as men can get pregnant and feel how we do then you can't say anything" she smirks and my momma nods and says "You tell em Colleen!" Everyone laughs. Its so good to be home.

The rest of the day we relax. We tell Colleen we are going to my sisters tomorrow for a visit. Little does she know it is her surprise baby shower. I am so excited. My parents and I with Colleen go for a small walk after dinner around the block. Colleen is complaining she is feeling stiff. We come back and sit in the swing on my front yard eating an ice cream cone. Colleen leans into me "Josh I love it here. Thank you for bringing me to the calm life" she says. I kiss her forehead and say "I am glad my girls are having a good time."

The next day comes and we all pile into the car to drive to my sisters. Colleen is wearing her hair in a curly ponytail with a cute sundress. She looks adorable. We pull up to my sisters house and walk through the front door to about 20 women yelling "surprise!!!". Colleen jumped. She grabbed her chest and started to cry. She buried her face in my chest. I rubbed her back as all the women awwweed at me being affectionate to her. "Are you surprised babe?" I said as I looked down at her. "I am. This is too much." and with that she kisses me.

Colleen POV

I am so surprised. I cannot believe I didn't figure this out. Josh takes me to "my" seat which is all decorated fancy with pink bows and streamers. He kisses me goodbye and tells me to have fun with all the women in his family who are at the shower and him and his dad leave for a few hours. Erin comes over to me and hugs me. "You make my brother so happy Colleen. Congrats!" she says. I hug her back and say "he makes me happy as well. He is the best man I know". We spend the rest of the afternoon eating and drinking and opening amazing gifts with tons of tiny clothes that I cry at every time I open a new present. Joshua's brother is an artist and him and his wife gave us a beautiful hand painted picture with LILLY painted on it. It was gorgeous. I needed kleenex for that one. I am having some chocolate cake when I see Josh walk in the room at the end of the shower. He walks over to me. "Have fun babe?" he says as he bends down to me sitting. "yes!" I say. "Joshua look at all the beautiful presents" as I point beside me. I show him everything including his brothers painting. I look at him and of course he is crying. "Babe, Lilly will be here soon" he says. I nod and kiss him.

We get back to Joshuas parents house with all our gifts and head to bed to relax for a bit. I am tired and need a nap. Joshua sits on the bed on his laptop and I lay down beside him and sleep. I love knowing he is near. "Babe my tummy is too full" I whine. "You feel ok?" he says and stops watching his video. I shake my head and walk into the bathroom with Josh following me. I sit down on the floor with him in front of the toilet in case I need to vomit. He is rubbing my back. "What did you eat Colleen?" he says. "Nothing much except for cake" I answer. "How many pieces Colleen?" he asks. I look at him and smile. He looks at me and shakes his head. "Let me guess ....3?" as he starts laughing. "Baby dont make fun of me I don't feel good" I whine but half laugh. I think we sat there for an hour before Josh carried me to bed.
