Waited for so long....(1/3)

New Year

Josh POV

We are now back at home from Georgia and News Years is done. Colleen and Rachel are getting ready for their tour in a week by packing bags and props. I walk into the office and hug Colleen from behind as she has her back to me. "I feel so much better knowing I am coming with you on this trip and every trip until the tour is over. No more scares thank you" as I laugh while kissing her cheek. Colleen turns around and kisses me on the lips. "Seriously you already made the baby. I am in the room!" I hear Rachel say. I start to laugh and end the kiss. 

"Colleen when is your ultrasound?" I ask her. "tomorrow at 1pm babe" she replies with a smile. I turn around and walk back out of the office. I then quickly turn around and walk back in to ask her one more thing. "When are we telling the subs?" I ask. "Right after that appointment. Once we know everything is good" she smiles. "Babe can you grab me some airheads and olives" she asks me. I scrunch my face up and hear Rachel say ewww and look at her sitting on the couch. "Colleen you are gross" Rachel says. Colleen just shrugs and says "Thats what I feel like, sorry." I smile and go get her what she wants. Anything she wants. 

Colleen POV

The next day comes and all I can have is water before the ultrasound. I have to drink tons of water, 6 glasses to be exact and I can't pee until after the ultrasound. I am starving too but I just have to wait until 1pm. Josh promised we would go to lunch right afterwards and then come home and watch a movie and cuddle. I am the clingy one now more than Josh. The hormones are definitely playing a role but honestly this bonding that Josh and I know have because of the baby has brought us so close as a couple. I feel more dependant and don't mind people doing things for me and I have the perfect excuse.

I am about to burst and Josh is laughing at me as we drive to the doctors. "Its not funny" I say but he just keeps rubbing my hand and telling me we get to see the baby soon so it will be all worth it. Easy for him to say. We finally arrive and they bring me back to an exam room and I change into a gown and hop up onto the exam table. Dr. Jansen walks in "You guys ready to see if we can tell what this baby is?" We both nod. We are beyond excited. Josh grabs my hand with both of his hands. The doctor puts the gel on my stomach and she starts scanning over my stomach. We hear the heartbeat and we smile. Josh squeezes my hand. The doctor then keeps scanning and looks at us with a smile. "You ready?" she says. "Yes!" we say in unison. "Well I hope you like pink" she says. I start balling. I look over at Josh. He has let go of my hand and his head is in his hands, he is crying. "Babe are you ready for Lilly?" I ask him between tears. The doctor excuses herself  for a few minutes and leaves us alone. Josh stands up and collapses on my chest as I am still laying down. I hug him tight. "I am so ready baby" he says. We cry joyfully for a few minutes and the doctor returns. She is smiling at us. She must think we are crazy. She tells us that I need to relax whenever possible as she knows I am on stage alot for the next two months. She looks at Josh and says "You are in charge of telling Colleen to relax okay? Please make sure she eats well on the road and gets lots of sleep". Josh says "I will, don't worry" as he wipes tears from his face. She smiles at him then directs her attention to me. "Colleen remember the struggle to get pregnant and the complications you have had along the way. As you get bigger the issues could get bigger. Please be more dependant and rest whenever possible. I want to see you in my office the day after your tour ends at the end of February. Congrats you two!!!" and with that she turns around and walks out the office door. I slowly get dressed and I go to the washroom. Josh waits for me outside the washroom and grabs my hand on my way out.

"Josh I need some things" I say to him. "Anything" as he stops and turns to me while we walk out to the car. "I need some maternity clothes. I can't wear your tshirts forever" I say. He smiles and nods. With that we get in the car and do some shopping and lunch and return home to cuddle. I am having a little girl I keep thinking. I am having a daughter.
