CHAPTER TEN
Blue Grey Hearts

Shouto watched as Midoriya and the kids played in the water. Eri was laughing as she clung onto Midoriya while the twins were trying to knock them down.

Midoriya and Kouri were on an emotional cease fire mode. There was still some awkwardness between them but they are better than the last two weeks. He can still recall the night after they all found out that Kouri is an omega, around a week ago. It was a very tiring night, and Shouto was in panic mode. His mind kept on throwing questions at him. Can he take care of Kouri? Does he know anything about being an omega? Would he be able to help him?

He was scared- he wanted to do best for his child. Then, he heard Midoriya's experience. And more than being angry, he became more afraid. But then, Midoriya smiled at him, told him that he wanted to help Kouri even if his child didn't want to. Because Midoriya loves his kids.

Shouto always knew that Midoriya had a big heart. He just cannot help but wonder, how big is his heart, really? To be able to love despite everything he's experienced?

Shouto admired Midoriya more. He is a very, very brave omega. If he ever had the chance to become a hero, he'll probably become the number one.

"Waaah~" Midoriya exclaimed, the twins finally knocked them down. The omega was fast as he shielded Eri from the impact. There were big smiles on their lips as the twins teased Eri and Midoriya for failing. And Eri, being the competitive girl she is, exclaimed, "One more!"

Shouto never knew he could experience a day like this with his family- Midoriya included. They decided they deserve an emotional break from everything they had experienced- Katsu's quirk, Kouri's presentation and the unsaid issue regarding Midoriya's crush on Shouto- that's why they are having a vacation today. One whole day of goofing off on the beach.

Shouto would be honest, he's flattered that the omega find him likeable. But, Shouto respects what Midoriya thinks is right. Shouto wasn't born yesterday, he knew Midoriya doesn't want to talk about the crush issue, since that's why there's tension between him and Kouri. And Shouto thinks that if ever a time comes and Kouri decides to accept Midoriya, the last say would still be on Midoriya. If he wanted to tell Shouto about this, Shouto would listen. But Shouto also thinks that Midoriya thinks it is better not to entertain his crush.

Surely, Shouto's alpha didn't like it. But, Shouto decided that it's probably for the better, too. He doesn't want to deal with feelings as of the moment and he wanted to focus on his kids. If ever a time may come that he will like someone, he'll deal with it then. And it didn't like, he likes Midoriya now. Right?

Shouto is just... thankful. Ever since Eri found Midoriya, many things have changed in their life. After his wife- Aki-san died, everything was monotone- as if they forgot to see color. Katsu became closed off. Kouri started keeping things to himself. And without Shouto knowing, Eri drowned herself to the memories she never had with her mother. If Eri and Midoriya hadn't met, Katsu would still be thinking that Shouto hates him. Shouto would probably never know that Kouri is an omega. And most importantly, they would have never seen Eri's genuine smiles.

When Midoriya came into their lives, he carried color. Painting their once black and white world. When Midoriya came, everything felt easier- easier to breathe, easier to smile, easier to talk with each other.

Now, Shouto tries as much as he can to train Katsu and Kouri's quirk. He's trying to use his fire, too. And, Shouto isn't scared to walk with Kouri as he tries to live the life of an omega. Because Midoriya is helping them walk the path. Shouto even uses his day offs now, so that he could be with the kids.
