CHAPTER NINE
Omega

"Your father is free to like whoever he wants. And whoever it may be, your mom still remains as your mom."

Izuku is trembling. He wanted to get up from the floor- Eri-chan's going to wake up soon- but he can't. He cried harder, punching his legs harder. Useless, Izuku thought. You can't even stand on your own.

He doesn't like this. He never liked this. All his life, he needed to prove himself, just because he's quirkless and an omega, too. He always tries his best, to show people he can- he can do something, he can protect himself, he can build something. He can be anything he wants to be. He's always trying- doing his best. They say it's doing your best, but Izuku always feels like he's begging.

Begging to be acknowledged. Begging to be accepted. Begging to exist. Begging to love. Begging to be loved.

"Can't you at least let me feel for your father?" He asked, his voice pleading. He just wanted to like someone like some normal person. "Is that too much to ask?"

Izuku felt a calming alphan pheromone, it's scent familiar to his nose. He smiled at Katsu, appreciating the calming pheromones he's sending Izuku's way. Izuku's eyes travelled back to Kouri. The latter is looking past him, refusing to understand whatever he is saying- as if his words get on his right ear then gets out on his left. There was confusion in Kouri's eyes as he bit his lip.

Izuku tried to stand again, but this time, Katsu was by his side in an instant, helping him to stand. He saw his swollen fists, and he smiled a thin smile. He looked at Kouri again. "I just wanted to feel like I'm normal- and not the useless quirkless omega you all thought I am."

Izuku dragged his feet to the door, dragging Katsu with him. The young alpha refusing to let go of him, afraid that he'll collapse once more. "Izuku-kun," he started.

Izuku smiled at him, releasing a small amount of calm pheromones, to let the young alpha know that he's fine, now . "I better go back to Eri-chan." he breathed deeply, trying to stop the hiccups. "She'll wake up, soon." He smiled once more.

By this time, Izuku isn't sure if it's Katsu he's trying to fool by his smiles or himself.

"I'm sorry." Katsu whispered, biting his lip. His pheromones are stronger, trying to calm Izuku.

Izuku patted the young alpha's head, "Don't be."

Then, he left.

The next week consists of trying- and even more trying.

Izuku had decided to let Kouri have his time as Izuku continued doing what he's doing. Three times a week, after Eri-chan's school, she and Izuku would be at the office, building projects for their partnered heroes. The rest of the week, they are at home, playing with each other. Katsu is playing with them, too. He's more comfortable with Izuku now, but he's still rather on thin ice, especially if Kouri wants to play together.

Izuku tried to adjust to Kouri's issues. There were no more late night talks with Todoroki-kun. No more tarragon and cacao teas. No more stars. No more calming pheromones. No more Todoroki-kun.

Izuku sighed, staring back at the stars. They really, really calm Izuku.

Izuku got the chance to enjoy the night tonight again since Todoroki-kun has a mission. He's been gone for three days.
