27/Nov/20: What are you thinking?
I wonder what I look like in your eyes
Do my colours match your eyes?
Do you see the green I do fringed on my hands?
Do you see the freckles of half-thought thoughts I carry around with me?
You say I'm kind, I wonder why
When I know I'm not so much as you believe
And I want to know
What does the dark look like in your eyes?
Is it the night
or a shadow from the tired street light?
What are you thinking?
I wish I could know
Or perhaps it's better I don't
This beautiful ignorance
That lets me shift along your lilac mind
Trying to cup the ocean of your thoughts between my fingers
I watch the water run through and wonder
If the breeze that sweeps the creaking waves
Carries salt or sweet
I wonder what you smell when you see
I wonder what you believe
And because the water is too bouyant when you don't sleep
I start to wonder how deep you like to delve in your dreams
Where do you go?
All the way down to the sand?
Do you count the rippling skeletons of fish?
Do you bathe in the caustic scars of light
Dancing on the white grains
What do you see?
I don't think you will remember
But when you do,
Come tell me
