Ashes: 20/Jan/20
And if I must take you away
You have to be last out
Because it's just as with his castle
The sorcerer of my childhood and his omen
Where as soon as you leave the door
As soon as you are gone
Our home will collapse
The rafters will splinter and fall
The stairs will split and crumble
The walls will spit and burst
The rooms will shrivel and break
The carpets will strip and tare
The windows will shatter and rain
It will smell of smoke and gas
I am coughing the smoke from my lungs
Yet you aren't afraid as you watch
The willow basket catches alight
And I am forced to drop you
The wood burns away and you scatter
I can't find you now
Ashes among ashes
Grains so soft and delicate that blow away
In a gentle breeze
You
The strongest warrior
Defeated so mercilessly and then yanked from me
By the wind
By the world
I kneel in what is left
A charred mess
And scream until my voice burns
Take me too
Because if you must be taken away
You HAVE to be last out
Or I will follow you myself

Casket: 20/Jan/20
Put my feet in the wooden basket
It reminds me of your casket
Weeds sprout from the branches
Trapping my feet so I must watch as your heartbeat vanishes
Thorns bury into my skin
All I see is you so yellow frail and thin
Weeds wrap tighter and tighter till my toes turn black
There is you fading back
I am cut on a dragging thorn
A new scar a new memory born
But it came after your being
After the weeds long finished creeping
I hate the ugly scar today
Because you aren't here to see how it came
The weeds eat away at every abhorrent breath
Because the weeds remind me everyday of your death
