The next day, it didn't end well.
(Ayanokoji POV)
It was holidays. I was in my room with Horikita, Kushida, Keisei and Ike discussing about who was the impostor in the seemingly new game Am◯ng Us. I was the impostor. Since no one was near the gas tank, all I had to do was to deplete the O2 the last time for my taskbar to be completed. Well, I ran out of time and the survivors won. Good game.
Then, Kushida asked everyone to play a scribbly game, where one draws scribbly Dit◯os on a paper and see who's Dit◯o is the most accurate. My Dit◯o was as expected, an ugly freak that looks nothing like the original and would probably be a real life jelly mess at that rate, even with my Piano and Caligraphy, and Tea Ceremony holdings.
However, I noticed something different. Ike was somewhat struggling to draw compared to usual, and his left arm could not move well. I felt a bit worried, so I tried to confront him.
"Ike, is there anything about your hand?"
"e-Eh? umm... Nothing."
This dude did not look me directly in the eye, there must be something wrong everytime I ask him about almost anything. "Eye contact equals truth" and "No eye contact equals liar or probably a loner", but since he had difficulty with eye contact even if he was not a loner, I do not know whether he told the truth or not.
If Sudo was here, it'll be even rowdier. Too bad his basketball club likes to drag him along during the holidays and no one would know his whereabouts until near the end of holidays. Though not as violent and irrational anymore, I still feared him getting our class into trouble by getting caught in a fight among his club. With Yamauchi would be hundredfold even rowdier but since he's expelled, no one in our class cared about him or bothered to remember him.
"Ike-kun, are you really ok-"
I thought Ike would be at least somewhat excited for the sake of Kushida . Instead he pushed Kushida aside and kept denying that he was clearly not okay. His once crush on Kushida had apparently died down, probably because of being more interested in Shinohara.
"y-Yeah, it's fine..."
He was clearly at unrest when he said that, looking all that annoyed
(3rd person POV)
Ike was slightly nervous and was clutching his injured shoulder with his other hand. Everyone in the room noticed that he must be injured recently, but would observe the situation. Yukimura looked at Ike as if he noticed Ike was hiding something, and already knew before Ike could confirm or deny.
"Leave the idiot be, he'll be fine. No one would want to know what happens before, though."
Yukimura added levels of sarcasm in his reaction to pour salt on Ike's suffering. He did that glasses pose using two fingers to push it up which would especially not make him look any more smarter than he already was, but this could be part of his character too.
Horikita who was watching the whole time brought out an ice bag, which somehow maintained its cool temperature despite a lot of condensation already formed. She placed it on Ike's left shoulder, which all but made him feel comfortable.
"Ike-kun, there seems to be bandages under your shirt. I doubt that you can be smart enough to treat your own injury-"
It may be true that those bandages were roughly wounded and done so in a rush, but Ike seemed to not tolerate her berating since the Horikita Study Group formed. If it was Sudou- oh wait he changed his personality for her- nevermind but Sudou last time had blamed Horikita for wasting his time and missing club activities, the worst of the lot. He let the ice bag fall from his shoulder. Again the same gag, this time in Ayanokoji's room, with a different victim and there were now 3 other people watching the live action of it instead of hearing from a Shinohara heresy.
This time, it would not just be plain graphite being harsh on the eyes, but the lead was blue, an addition of chemicals from a color pencil normally used by children. Horikita still had to face it, with or without her compass. Ayanokoji glanced at that, and tried to surreptitiously find a way to either distract Ike or stop him from hurting anyone, because anytime he confronts Ike it wouldn't work. Yukimura would easily break the lead if he use his glasses as a shield, if he was the victim.
Though "her compass had nothing on that pencil", only applies when in base form as her compass turned Su◯◯r Sai◯an and did the Grand Move: Chopstick Grip on Ike's pencil, surprising everyone. Ike was obviously shocked even if he tried to present a calm exterior. The grand Sup◯r Sai◯◯n move was her compass's best move even though its signature moves were useless.
"w-What? Just don't tell anyone about this is fine! I admit defeat!"
Just like that, Ike surrendered and freed his pencil from the grip. Ayanokoji then used Superglue4200X ULTRA DENSE BOND Compact on the bottom of the ice bag and pasted it on Ike's left shoulder. Of course, he felt uncomfortable and this made his shoulder worse. Everyone made a hell out of it and took a picture of him in this state for future blackmail. Luckily the superglue was not new anymore so it was not as effective for heavy-duty use. Ike removed the ice bag and threw it at Ayanokoji.
(Ayanokoji POV)
Oof. The little condensation water left on the ice bag made my clothing wet after Ike threw the ice bag at me. I was lucky the plastic wasn't torn, or else Horikita would have told me to keep this useless prop where I have limited space already. But I have to beware of Horikita's compass as it turned Sup◯r Sai◯◯n, not only it could simply stab but it could grip enemy weapons. The full extent of her underestimated compass, I count myself lucky to be met with one of its weaker moves at the start of last year.
(3rd person POV)
The next 1am, Ike called Shinohara over to his room. When they sat, Shinohara noticed there was an unusual shadow on the upper half of Ike's face, and it reminded her about the day before. It must be some tantrum in Ayanokoji's room few hours ago.
"Ike, even if we argue a whole lot you seem to-"
The same pencil gag. This time Shinohara could not face off the blue lead. And her weapons? Let's see. A protractor, a 0.5mm mechanical pencil, just anything that could not stop Ike's 0.3mm mechanical pencil that's it. The pencil went Sup◯r Sai◯◯n by being used before scraping the lead until the tip becomes bona-fide sharp instead of cylindrical. That compass had proved itself to be a joke with or not its Grand Move, no student of class 2-D can brave this although Kouenji was out of the question. Now Shinohara could only observe Ike's eyes to pass the time and avoid worrying about the blue lead very near her eye.
