"Xisuma... Is he..?"

"He's breathing. He'll be fine. I think."

"He hasn't woken up since he passed out yesterday."

It's been a full day? Why can't I stay conscious?

"I just need him stable enough so that I can keep him awake. I left for five seconds the other day and found someone trying to kill him again."

"I hate to ask, but how?"

"Some form of drug and a knife to his throat. We need to find a way to get him conscious and talking to us."

The watchers weren't happy with my assassination attempt of Grian.

I failed them and paid a price.

That price was small.

"You told us he was dead."

"When I left him he was barely breathing. I assumed the rubble on top of him would kill him quickly."

"I was wrong."

"Don't fail us again, Sam."

"We gave you these powers for a reason."

"Don't fail us again."

I won't.

I woke up. I could think slightly clearly. I groaned as I sat up in the bed, the red covers falling against my lap.

"Xisuma? Mumbo? Scar?" I called out, but no one answered my calls, "Where is my... Communicator?"

I looked to my right. There was a note written and handled with care. With the IV in my hand, it was a little awkward to grab it. When I opened it, I could immediately tell it was Xisuma's handwriting.

Grian,

I had to step out for a second. If you wake up and are conscious enough to read this, don't leave. You're still a bit unstable and your Watcher powers are a bit uncontrollable.

I'll be back in five minutes. (3:05PM)

I looked towards the clock, it read 3:04PM.
