By the end of the day, you were ready to go home. Not back to Lucifer's flat, but back to Bobby and the Winchesters. Sure, you may be able to learn things about being a Nephilim and the powers that come with it, but you were getting really, really ready to go back home. You'd never really known homesickness.

You'd never been away from Bobby until you'd decided you wanted to go hunting with the Winchesters. And then it was hours in the car enjoying the boys' banter and hunting monsters. You always knew you could go back to Bobby's house, but here... it was different.

You waited for Lucifer to come and pick you up. As uneventful and insightful this day at school was, it didn't compare with the thrill of a hunt. Wait... a hunt? You were pretty sure there were monsters in this universe. Maybe you could go out on a hunt later today. You would have to ask Lucifer about it.

"Hey... you're Y/N right?" a voice said from behind you.

You turned around and saw Ares and Zac standing directly behind you, leaning on a railing. You twist around to watch them.

      "Yeah, why?" you asked.

Ares snorted," Are you always this defensive?"

You paused for a moment, then realized how tense you felt. You loosened your shoulders and shook out your feathers.

      "Sorry," you apologized," What's up?"

"Just wanted to meet the newest Nephilim in our class," Zac said, running his hand through his pale blonde hair," Sides... you got a sweet pair of wings."

You glanced at your wings, agreed internally, then said," Thanks."

"You doin' anything later?" Ares asked.

You wondered whether or not to ask about hunting, but you saw the Impala pulling up to the front of the school. You shook your head.

"No, not really," you said, then stood up," I guess I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Probably," Zac said," Don't be a stranger, Y/n."

You nodded with a forced smile before heading off to the Impala.

"How was the Angel Academy's newest recruit's first day of school?" Lucifer asked with a smile.

"Pretty good, boring mostly," you said," Although I got a few questions."

"I'm sure you do," Lucifer grinned.

"First off, who is Jakel?" you asked, inquiring about your Angel Theories and Flight Remediation teacher first.

"A flight risk mostly, but is mostly all talk and no bite," Lucifer replied," He's got beef with Michael mostly, which is why he's a bit... how should I say it... a loose cannon? He's one of those guys who talks a lot but doesn't know what he wants. Know what I mean?"

"I can imagine, and it sounds about right," you said quietly," Now... what about monsters? Do monsters live in this world?"

"Sure they do," Lucifer said, then sighed," But... they're very different from the ones you've probably faced."

"What do you mean?" you asked.

"With angels living among humans, monsters have found ways to become more devious in order to survive. That makes them way more dangerous," Lucifer said," I know we're not really in a comfortable father-daughter relationship yet, but please... if you find a monster, just let someone else deal with it. Don't try to fight it. This isn't like your world."
