Isa hated swimsuits. And shorts. And sunblock.
But she loved the beach. Irony.
She wore long skinny jeans and a loose T-shirt that, even though she was not skinny or thin, was a big fit. She lay on the sand, happy as she felt it between her toes. It was a liberating feeling of freedom, that extended to every ell of her body. She exhaled and inhaled the salty air, that smelled of the sea and of marine life.
She was laying down next to the sea, with her toes touching the water as it came with soft and calm waves from time to time, leaving foam on her feet. She smiled up at the warm sun as it's rays caressed her face softly. She opened her eyes and sat up, her arms helping her stay in position. Her hair was dry and fell into her face, but she didn't care. She felt the waves under her feet and smiled.
Who wears skinny jeans to a beach anyway?
Isa turned her head to watch everyone else playing volleyball.
Riddhi had just hit the ball towards the other side of the net. She fell onto the sand with a loud and hard Thump!. The sand hit her face as soon as she fell, her whole body deepening into the sand as if it was quicksand. The ball flew in the air and landed on the other side as Daniel flung himself forwards to return the hit.
"Ow." Riddhi said as she picked herself up and dusted herself with her hands, trying to take off the sand off her bare stomach. She wore a long navy blue old T-shirt over her swimsuit, that only left the bottom visible.
Her dark hair was pulled up into a messy ponytail, but she looked absolutely gorgeous in that simple outfit. She stumbled bak to the volleyball field, and smiled at Jai as he reached out to hit the ball, directed at her. He smiled at her back, covering his eyes with his hand so that the sunrays wouldn't affect his vision.
But she was very distracted by his worked abs, muscular arms and plain hotness.
Riddhi reached for the ball, and tried, but it hit her in the head and sent her to the ground again. Kate let out a laugh, and went to help her up. She extended her hand at a whirling Riddhi, whom was stunned a bit from the hard blow. She made sure her hair was in position and tried to stand up, wobbly at first, but then firmly.
Her knees struck together once a while as she walked towards the court again. Jai had a strong hand when it came to volleyball.
He came running up towards Riddhi, his eyebrows knitted together and his brown eyes full of worry. "Are you alright, babe?" He threw his arm over her shoulder.
She was fine, but as the muscular arm touched her skin she shuddered. "Yeah, I'm fine, don't worry Jaibear."
Luke did not contain his laughter. "JAIBEAR?!" He grabbed his torso as he laughed hard and loud. His muscular arms embraced his shirtless stomach. Skip started to laugh next to him as he grabbed Luke's shoulder for support. "What the hell is that?"
Jai muttered something under his breath, as Riddhi flushed up immediately. "I'm sorry, so sorry, I just..."
Kate was laughing too, her eyes filled with tears. "It's the nickname she uses for you when we're texting and such..." She blurted out without thinking, ignoring the shut-up-or-I'll-eat-your-face glare that Riddhi was giving her.
Jai looked at Riddhi with wide eyes. "Is that true?" His tone did not show what he was feeling.
She sighed and looked at the floor. "Yeah, I just-"
James interrupted her between laughs, he too was hugging his stomach. "Uh, Riddhs, there's something you should know too..." The laughter interrupted him, and he couldn't finish.
