Beau decided he would be alone forever and become an old man that would crumble to dust when he moved to drink his plum juice. He looked at his hands that were tied across his lap. His foot thumped against the floor, keeping a steady rhythm. Empty coffee cups and crumbs of half eaten doughnuts and muffins accompanied them on the table. Beau was just plain tired, he hadn't slept all night.
James was asleep next to him, his head placed on a girl's shoulder. She was asleep too. Apparently, they had just met that night on the bridge. And yet they were sleeping together. Beau smiled at his own joke, and turned his head upwards. Across the room, Jai was snoring quietly, his arms wrapped around Riddhi, who trembled from time to time with a soft sleepy smile on her face. Kate and Daniel were the opposite of calm, though.
Apart from the fact that they were laid on the floor in extreme starfish positions, they were perpendicular to each other. They intersected at a point where Kate had her head over his chest. She was using his arm as a blanket that she pulled over her side. Daniel made no attempt to snatch away his arm, but instead he snuggled up and snored softly.
Luke was asleep curled in a ball on a chair, a long chain of post its on the floor. Beau had no idea what he was writing on them, and was too tired to find out. He turned his gaze towards the black and white clock on the upper part of the wall. It marked 6 A.M. Beau rubbed his eyes with his tired fingers, his eyes were half closed.
The hospital was quiet except for an occasional scream, which normally came from the room in which the girl was sleeping in. He flinched, but became used to it. Beau stood up and walked away from the waiting room, his feet numbing up because of the sudden stretch. He walked about the hospital, occasionally bumping into a nurse or doctor.
He saw the glass door that led out of the hospital and slid his hands into his pockets.
Only you, Beau Brooks, go out at 6 in the morning. He thought with a smirk.
He pushed the door, and let the rushing cold air at his face. He smiled, and let out a breath. It came out as a white puff, because of the low temperatures. His pupils became large, at the absence of sunlight, making his greenish eyes become like those of a puppy. He started walking forwards, with tired eyes, through a deserted plaza. There was no one except for the distant laughter of a group of girls and some guys. The soft tunes of a dying party also reached his tired ears for a moment.
He wandered about, until he came to the bridge once again. How was it everything led to there? I mean it was the central part of town, but why did every street had to end there? He tried to push out the bad memories from his head, but couldn't. He just kept on replaying a body falling consciously into the cold and lethal waves of the river.
Was he going to be like this forever? It was a deep scar to see someone almost die, but Beau did not want to think like this everytime he passed this. Ugh, he looked up at the sky. He felt so lonely sometimes, when he was not the fun and hilarious guy everyone knew. Inside, he felt sort of alone. As if he would never find someone that would love him. He despised that feeling and yet it haunted him in everything he did.
He sighed. The cold air rushed around him like a tornado. Beau reached out for the hood of his sweater, and pulled it up to cover his freezing cheeks. It warmed him up immediately, and the frost washed off his cheeks, making them blush a light red. His hair was messed up and his eyes were half closed, so it gave him an attractive but tired expression.
"He he he your eyes are like bubblessss..." a girl's voice slurred in the distance, the same voices he had heard earlier. "So squishy and clean."
"Ha, ha ha. You lying fishmonger... They is like a beaver..." a different girl's voice answered the first one with a playful tone. "If I was yo boyfriend... I'd neva let ya go..." She started singing, slowly yet increasing her tone rapidly. Pretty soon they all were yelling the lyrics to the Bieber song.
