Warning: this chapter may suck and it's pretty random, but I felt like writing it(:
They all walked down the plaza, ignoring the hateful looks Kate got once in a while.
She just kept her head held high, and warmed up under Daniel's arm, which caused those plastic girls to just gasp. Kate just winked and stuck out her tongue at them, as was her I-don't-give-a-fuck nature, which Skip adored. She just turned her face back to the road, and smiled as she leaned a bit closer on his shoulder. He felt his heart thumping on his chest as he breathed showly, trying not to startle her.
Beau walked with Becca by the hand, she was wearing his hoodie. Even though she wasn't exactly skinny, Beau's grey hoodie fit largely, considering he was taller and more muscular built that she was. She accepted it, because the weather was freezing. It was thick, woolly on the inside, that made it all the more warm to have it on. She was leaning on his shoulder, they just walked about like a couple, well maybe they were.
Luke and Isa weren't as warm and open as Daniel, Kate, Beau and Becca were with each other. Isa was just walking next to him, their shoulders barely touching. Luke looked at her from time to time, with his brown eyes full of worry, and a mixture of something more. She gazed at the floor, her eyes lost in thought. He felt like cheering her up. He wanted to make her smile so bad.
Luke felt his fingers intertwining with hers.
Isa bolted up as if she was just shocked with a load of electricity. But, she didn't object to his hand sliding in hers, slowly, and carefully locking his fingers with hers. She felt a blast of unknown electricity crawl up her spine.
"Can I tell you a joke...?" He tried, as he noticed Isa being all quiet and shaky. Luke wanted to see her smile for once in her life.
"Um, yeah, why not?" She said softly, her eyes half closed, blush pushing at her face to stain her cheeks a light pink.
"Uh, uh... Beau remember that other joke I told you... the one that made you laugh... uh... yeah... tell it please." Luke shot him a look, as he stuttered.
"Which one?" Beau looked at him, questioning. Brotherly telepathy happened as Luke pleaded with his look, and Beau just stared at him with non-knowing eyes.
What the hell, man? He asked Luke with his eyes.
Pweeeease? You know I need this, man. He gave his brown eyes a puppy dog sparkle, that same sparkle that made hearts melt. He just pouted in an adorable manner, towards his older brother who sighed.
Dude, if you need it that much, do it yourself. Beau had built up an immune system to those puppy eyes, from years of resisting his younger brother's requests. He was not about to break that record over some joke.
Luke was not about to give up. He patted his pocket, twice, and turned back to look at Beau. I'll pay you.
This sparked Beau's interest. Are you that desperate? He smiled at Luke's eyes, which said the answer he needed to hear. He just sighed and shook his head softly with a grin. All right.
Luke felt like hugging his brother and squeezing him to death. Thank yewww his puppy dog eyes thanked Beau happily.
"Alright. Uh..."
Beau didn't have time to finish, because they were interrupted by a soft strumming accompanied by a soft singsongy voice. It was beautiful, almost as an angel was singing from above. Soft, velvet and honey combined in one sole voice, that moved swiftly across the atmosphere, dancing on all their ears. Beautifully tailored vocal cords that vibrated like a violin, creating a sound that was almost heavenly.
