You and Leorio were friend since childhood. People always said that you looked like sweethearts together, but you knew he only saw you as a friend. You always thought that's all you could get and you accepted that. When he was 18 he decided to finally take the hunter exam. You didn't hear from him since then and it hurt you greatly.
Sulking after him didn't really help you with anything, so you fully lost yourself in your work and studies, soon becoming one of the most popular marine biologist on the world. You were even able to write your own books about all the discoveries.
Your favorite part of it was meeting the people interested in your work. Along those people a few attractive individuals, like that one man with fluffy black hair, bandage around his forehead and a pair of earrings that fitted him nicely, along with a nice suit, really polite as well. A nice sight for the eyes and soul.
You weren't sure in what town were you in now, but the park you were in was rather nice and spacious. Before you could fully relax on your bench, you heard a scream of pure terror and a moment later you felt cream all over your face. Then a small sound of something wet hitting the ground.
You tried to wipe as much cream from your face as possible, but there wasn't much of an effect.
-I am so, so sorry for this miss! Here's a tissue! – someone said and put the said object in your hand.
You quickly cleaned your face, your eyes still closed. You slowly started to speak and open your eyes at the same time.
-It's fine. The question is who threw tha... - you stopped in the middle of your sentence.
Before you stood 4 boys. One in green clothes with a guilty look in his eyes, white haired with a resting cat smirk, blond cutie with chains on his hands and him. Next to the three stood the man youd didn't hear from for such a long time, Leorio Paradinight.
-Leorio? – you asked, your face resembling a big one question mark.
-[Y-Y/n]? – he answered with his own question.
This was the one of the few things you weren't really expecting to happen. The both of you stared at each other, not really sure what to do.
-I-it's good to see you, Oreo-chan, how have you been? – you decided to tease him, because that was the best way of not showing how surprised you really were.
His face quickly turned red. He turned his back to you so you couldn't see how embaressed he was. The boys he was with started to stare at you, curiosity visible in their eyes.
-Who are you? – asked the green child.
-I'm [Y/n], Oreos old friend. Nice to meet ya! – you smiled brightly at the small boy and shook his hand.
-Well, it's nice to meet you too. Sorry for the cake, I was aiming for Killua. – he said, scratching the back of his head and pointing at the white haired kid. – And this is Kurapika! Oh, and my name is Gon! – he then pointed at the blond boy.
Soon Leorio turned back in your direction, his face still tinted pink.
-I wasn't expecting to meet anyone interesting here, and yet here we are now. My old friend that I though was dead right in front of me, - you gave Leorio a pointed look, while he averted his eyes. – with some other interesting people. This trip is getting better and better!
Gon happily nodded his head. Soon you and the three younger boys were talking like old pals. Leorio only stood next to your small group and pouted. He didn't like the fact that you were paying more attention to his friend than himself.
He never really had the guts, to tell such beautiful, chubby and caring woman as yourself, that he had feelings for you for some years, even before he went away to take the hunter exam. The way you smiled made him smile. When you laughed, he usually would join in. However, what he loved the most, was the way your eyes shined when you spoke about something you loved.
You spend the rest of the day with the four males, laughing and making jokes here and there. The first place you walked in was a cat café. Turned out that Killua fitted just perfectly to that place. Leorio on the other hand got severally scratched and it was hard for you to not laugh at how miserable he looked. Then you bought everyone some ice cream and everyone enjoyed themselves until some bird didn't attack Leorio, because of all the crumbs he had on himself. The you went bowling and that time everyone was having enjoying it.
Soon after that they started to walk back to the places they stayed at, to be ready for some kind of training. The only person left was Leorio himself.
-So...? You're going to walk me to my hotel, I'm guessing? – you asked a bit awkward with the whole situation.
-Yeah, just... - he looked like he wanted to say something, but stopped himself. – Let's go, before it's get to cold.
You sadly nodded your head in agreement and walked beside him slowly. In the time of 20 minutes you were standing before your hotel.
-Well this is it. I had fun today, Oreo-chan. – you smiled sadly, knowing that you wouldn't see him in longer time.
-Yeah, uh... Goodbye and have nice night. – he replayed averting his eyes once again this day.
You turned to Leorio and waved. Just when you were about to walk into the hotel, you felt a soft hold on your own wrist.
You looked at Leorio with silent question for his actions in your eyes. He only turned slightly red and placed his hand in yours, interweaving your fingers with his own. At that gesture you blushed a little as well.
-I just wanted to say...I-I lo-love you. Since I can remember really. You were always there for me, even when the worst moments came. You're just so special to me, - the tears slowly started to slide down your face. – you always said that I can do anything if I believe strong enough. So I believe you, will maybe, optionally, just like maybe give me a chance in dating you? – he choked out and looked up on you.
Your cheeks were red from the cold, eyes shimmering in light of street lamps, tears already dried. You nodded your head happily at him and he answered with a big smile on his own and wrapping his hands on your waist. It felt so nice.
He slowly put you back on the ground and smiled from ear to ear. You kissed him on the cheek, speaking straight in his ear in low whisper:
-Coffee tomorrow morning sound great. Can't wait to see you later. – you kissed his cheek again.
After that you turned around and walked in your hotel. Before you could do anything more, you heard screams of happiness, coming from your personal Oreo. You giggled like a high school girl, making your way to your room and thing what will come tomorrow.
