That night you had with Spencer was nice. He comforted you, making sure you knew that your decision wasn't the wrong decision.

This was hard. Giving up a baby is not supposed to be easy and you knew it would be a good decision in the long run but it hurt.

You were still trying to work everything out with Spencer so it wouldn't be logical to try to raise a baby with him.

You both woke up early the next morning.

You two wanted time to talk.

You made breakfast this time and sat at the table, you both needed to talk about your future.

"Where do you see us in the future?"

You play with your food as you talk.

"I don't know. Sometimes I can't even see us having a future."

Spencer examines your face as you say that, he knew why but he didn't like to hear it. You two couldn't stop hurting each other and you didn't know if you could ever get better.

"Do you ever want to get married?"

"I've thought about it but marriage is very serious. I want to get married to someone that I really love."

"Do you love me?"

You look up to him and pause, choking behind the tears that you were trying to hold back. "Yeah," you nod, "I do."

You and Spencer both stand up. Spencer pulls you into tight hug, putting his arms around your waist as he puts his lips on yours.

He pulls away from the kiss and whispers, "I love you too."

He pulls away from hug and gazes into your eyes, putting his hands on your cheeks.

You look up at him.

You felt really safe but something inside you is telling you that this wasn't going to last. You wanted it to last but you had no clue if it would.

Every time things look up, you or Spencer fuck it up.

"We should, um, probably get to work."

Spencer pulls away.

You grab your keys from the bedroom nightstand and go into the living room where Spencer was waiting near the door. He waits for you, then opens the door for you to leave first.

He walks out and closes the door, you lock it with your keys.

You both walk down the stairs together. He sticks out his hand, gesturing that he wants to hold hands.

You didn't have to speak, the intimacy was there.

You both held hands as you walked out of the apartment building and onto the street. Eventually making your way to the FBI, where you enter the elevator.

You two exited the elevator.

The rest of the team were at their desks, you could see them interacting with each other across the room.

They all notice when you and Spencer walk in the room, Morgan smiles and whistles at both of you.

You're confused but then you realize you two are still holding hands.

You look down and roll your eyes as you smile. You let go of his hand, "alright, alright, yall have had your fun."

You look over and see Spencer smile.

His smile is so adorable.

Hotch then calls the team into the conference room.

You are the first in the room, you sit at the table in your usual seat.

JJ turns on the projector and tells everyone about a case in Austin, Texas. "Two men were murdered, one missing from the Austin area. No signs of sexual assault, they were shot with a single bullet to the head."

She continues on with the details of the case and the team comments on it.

You say, "so, it wasn't a sexual thing. He didn't want the victims to suffer. He sounds like an amateur serial killer."

After the team gives there opinion, Hotch ends the meeting with wheels up in thirty.

...

On the jet, everything is back to normal.

Hotch assigns the team places, you and Spencer go talk to the victim's friends and family like normal.

It was a pretty long jet ride.

"Did you know that more than half of Shakespeare's characters die in the same way?" Spencer looks around at the team.

"What? Have you read all of his books?"

"Yeah, I have actually. 54 out of the 100 characters die from-"

Morgan shuts him down.

The jet lands soon and the team exits. You and Spencer get in an SUV.

You put in the GPS in for an address with someone related to the victim's. You drive with Spencer in the passenger seat and follow the directions of the GPS.

You park on the side of the road next to the house that the GPS brought you too. You and Spencer unbuckles your seatbelts and step out.

You walk up to the front door with Spencer and knock on it.

An old woman opens the door, its the mother of the victim.

"Ma'am," you pull out your badge, "I'm SSA Y/n Y/l/n and this is SSA Spencer Reid, we would like to ask you some question."

"SSA? You guys are from the FBI?"

"Yes, ma'am. We are here investing your son's case."

"Just one moment," she closes the door. You assume it was to remove the chain but then you hear multiple locks.

"Ma'am?"

"Go away."

"Ma'am, we are only here to help."

"Go away."

You look over at Spencer, he gestures that you two just leave.

You both get in the car and drive to the local police station, where you get out with Spencer and walk in.

You spot the room with everyone.

They already set everything up and you sit down at the table.

The teams starts coming up with the profile.

"What did you get from the interviews?" Hotch asks

"Nothing, she wouldn't talk to us."

"This is going to be harder than we thought," Spencer says.

"Glad to be back," you joke.
