The Guardian's Tale (AOT fanfiction)

-The Castle-

We got off of the horses and placed them in the stables. The  flames around my arms vanished and I stretched. Finally we were off of our horses and the moon was out, giving us more light. I touched my arm and sighed, relieved when I felt Marco's handkerchief still there. Reiner gently grabbed my hand and led me inside with the others. 

We all sat next to the big staircase leading to the tower. As Reiner leaned back, he lifted me up and made me sit on his lap, facing him. I placed my head on his chest and started dozing off.

"I want you kids to try and get some rest. There shouldn't be any Titans crawling around at this time of night. But we'll take turns keeping watch." One of the Scouts said. "Be ready to leave 4 hours after daybreak."

"Sir...What if it turns out Wall Rose ISN'T actually compromised ?" I ask. "Does that mean my theory was right ? Could some people have been turned into Titans inside the walls ? Or mabe somehow they've been transported in." I said as I felt Reiner's heartbeat gradually speed up.

"It's our job to find out...starting tomorrow." The Scout said as he headed up the big staircase. 

Christa then got up and walked over to me, offering me her hand. I reluctantly got up from Reiner's lap and placed a hand on my stomach as I winced. 

"What do you want ?" I asked coldly.

"Let me take a look at that." She said, pointing at my bandage.

I growled, led her into another room and closed the door. I then turned to her, my eyes glowing brighter than usual.

"Listen up. I know you're aware of who I am." I tensed up my shoulders. "I know you're aware I'm an Uchiha. And guess what sweetie I know who you are. You're Historia Reiss. Our families were rivals." I said as she gasped. "Your family pushed mine away from what was rightfully ours. Your family killed my clan years ago, leaving me and my brother alive because they couldn't find us. Your family PERSECUTED US AND TOOK EVERYTHING FROM US...FROM ME !" I let out a small dark laugh. "Don't think I haven't noticed what you're trying to do. I know your family's powers will never be complete without the power of our clan." I slammed my hand against the wall. "And guess what. You'll be forever powerless because I'm NOT helping you. Not now and not ever." I opened the door and started walking out.

"Please just hear me out you have to gi-" She placed a hand on my shoulder and I glared at her, bloodlust filling my eyes.

"I don't have to do shit." I smacked her hand away. "And don't you EVER touch me again." 

I walked back to Reiner, sitting next to him but he pulled me in the same position as before. I sighed and smiled, then, placed my head on his chest again. Connie told them about how his village was destroyed but no one was eaten. Exhausted, I slowly fell asleep to the sound of Reiner's heartbeat and the feeling of his arms wrapped tightly around me.

"EVERYONE WAKE UP ! GET TO THE TOWER IMMEDIATELY !" A female Scout yelled.

I flinched and quickly stood up. Reiner came out of a small room, picked me up and carried me all the way up the stairs. We all stood there, shocked as we realized that the area was crawling with Titans. 

"H-Hey guys..." I called out. "The hell is THAT ?!" I pointed at a weird Titan with long arms, covered in fur. "It's gotta be a Titan but...it looks more like some sort of beast. How do we-" I noticed the shocked and frightened look on Reiner and Bertholdt's faces and saw a hint of realization. "Wait a second...do you guys know t-..." I looked back at it. "It's headed for the wall !"

Nanaba ordered us to stay put as they took care of the Titans. We didn't have much of a choice though considering we didn't have gear or anything. As they attacked, I clenched my fist, knowing they weren't going to make it. 

"Titans are inside the castle. Get below and improvise some sort of a barricade." A woman ordered. "Be careful. Retreat back here ONLY as a last resort."

We headed off and she jumped down to fight the incoming Titans. I grabbed a torch and tossed it to Reiner. I then let fire envelop my right hand.

"I'll go check how far they've gotten in." Reiner said calmly. "You guys find something to board up the entrance."

"WAIT ! Reiner hang on !" I sighed as I realized it was hopeless. "Blonde kamikaze." I mumbled.

I started running faster as he opened a wooden door. Was he crazy ? There was no way to know what the hell was hiding down here. As soon as he went down the stairs, I heard a Titan and him boarding the door. Great. We warned him.

"THEY'RE IN THE TOWER !" He yelled. "GET DOWN HERE AND HELP ME !"

The others and I ran to find something and luckily we came across a cannon. 

"HEY GUYS HEADS UP ! INCOMING !" Ymir yelled as I touched the cannon and lit it on fire. "OUTTA THE WAY !"

I kicked the cannon down the stairs as hard as I could and luckily it struck the Titan directly. I pulled out a knife from under my skirt and handed it to Connie. We were about to head back upstairs when I noticed the Titan was now fully up, behind Connie. I pushed him out of the way, ready to take the hit but Reiner pushed both of us down. The Titan bit down on his arm as I got up but Reiner hauled it over his shoulders.

"Oh shit no." I said, my voice resembling a whisper. "W-Wait what are you..." I started asking as he went up the stairs. "WAIT REINER DON'T ! PLEASE !" I cried out as I realized he was going to jump out of the window with it.

I ran after him and sliced the Titan's jaw open. As it turned towards us again, I placed my hands on the ground, jumped up and kicked it out of the window. As I was about to fall, Connie held my legs and pulled me back in, which earned him a dark look from Reiner.
