The Guardian's Tale (AOT fanfiction)

-Assault on Stohess pt.3-

I managed to get up on one knee as I left my hand over my bleeding stomach. I looked up, my vision hazy, and spotted Jean, Armin and Hange on a rooftop. I shot my hooks in the house and landed beside them, on one knee.

"You proposing or somet-" Jean started but was cut off by Hange.

"That's strange. What's this fire seeping out of your mouth ? Weren't your eyes golden before ? Open your mouth." She commanded as I obeyed and opened my mouth. "Wow this is amazing ! You have top AND bottom fangs ! Ouch hot !" She exclaimed, excitedly.

"S-Section commander Hange...I don't think now's the time..." Armin interrupted.

"Annie's headed for level ground. We can't use ODM there." I remarked as Jean quickly bandaged my stomach and other cuts.

"Right...SPLIT INTO 2 TEAMS AND GO AROUND !" She ordered the Scouts around us.

We nodded and obeyed. I had no idea how we were going to stop this but I knew I might have to try and transform for the second time in 6 years. I silently stood there, leaning on Jean to keep my balance. I watched as Annie and Eren faced off. I watched as Eren became a beast out of control. I spotted Mikasa, about to go towards him but I stopped her.

"M-Mikasa..." I was cut off by yet another wave of pain. "Guh...Don't he w-...Ngh-...he won't recognize you right now."

We all watched as Annie tried to climb the wall but Eren stopped her. He only had one arm but he hung on to her with all he could. I was about to turn around when I spotted 3 children in danger of being crushed by a building Annie had kicked and damaged.

"Shit." I mumbled as I got off of Jean. "I'll be back."

"Yuki what ar-" I cut him off by placing my hand on his mouth.

I shot my hooks into a nearby building and flew to the children. I only had about 15 seconds before it collapsed on them. I ignored the hellish pain coursing through my whole body and landed in front of the children.

"Hang on tight kids." I said as I pulled them in.

As the building started to collapse, I bit my hand and a crystallized rib cage covered in muscle appeared around us, shielding us completely. Once the building had fully collapsed, I ripped the muscles linking my own ribs to the one of the Titan and stood up. 

"Ngh fuck..." I swore under my breath as blood soaked through my bandages and onto my clothes. "You kids alright ?" I asked, looking down at the children.

When I did, I saw a small girl with white hair and shining brown eyes and 2 boys. One with light brown hair and the other with golden hair who seemed to share the same facial features so I assumed they were twins. I stood up straighter and saluted, smiling down at them. When I saw their scared expression, I realized that fire was still seeping out from my mouth and my eyes were still red.

"M-Miss..." The little girl started. "Thank you but...you're hurt..." She pointed out as I collapsed and fell on one knee.

"I'm ARH-...I'm fine..." I said as I stood back up. "Ah...horse face..." I mumbled as Jean landed next to me, placing his shoulder under my arm.

"W-Who...are you ? And...what are you ?" Th boys asked in unison.

"Yuki...Yuki Uchiha." I winced. "You can call me the Guardian Titan." I turned around and gripped Marco's handkerchief. "You kids take care now...goodbye."

As Jean and I got back, we saw Eren's Titan merging with Annie's headless one and we stood there, shocked. As I looked closer, I realized Annie had been covered by some sort of strange crystal. Then, Captain Levi came swooping down and cut Eren free of his Titan. 

"Shrimp...Commander Erwin wants you as his bodyguard for something. You might want to go." He said as he turned to me.

I nodded and headed off.

"You wanted to see me Commander ?" I asked, holding a salute to the best I could.

"Yes thank you for coming my dear. Are you holding up alright ?" He asked as he looked at my stomach. "You might want to try to get rid of the fire coming out of your mouth and cover those red eyes."

"Oh uhm...yes I'm fine...all of my injuries have healed except for the one on my stomach." I smiled as the fire faded and my eyes turned back to their glowing golden color.

He nodded and led me into a strange room filled with authority figures. They all stared at me as I walked to stand behind the Commander's chair, my hands behind my back. I could see some scoffing due to the fact that some of my blood was dripping down onto the floor but I ignored them and looked straight ahead. Two Military Police soldiers pointed their guns at me and I flinched. Were they really that scared of me that they had to go this far ? As soon as I flinched, they placed their fingers on the trigger. I was already wounded and utterly exhausted, what the hell was I going to do ?

"Erwin, we have a number of questions concerning this latest operation." A man holding what looked to be a report spoke up. "If you believe you knew the target's identity, why did you not ask for the Military Police's assistance ?"

My legs threatened to give out from under me but I remembered that I had 2 guns pointed at me so I fought the hellish pain and kept on standing up straight. Hoping and praying that this would come to an end soon.

"Sir." The Commander gave me a quick glance. "Given the likelihood that the female Titan has inside accomplices, it was necessary to involve only those above suspicion."

"But how do you justify the damage caused to Stohess as a result of that ?" The man asked. "And on top of that this...monster is above suspicion ?" He asked, pointing at me.

"Our ineptitude is to blame. I offer my sincerest apologies." Commander Erwin apologized.

"Apologies won't fix this !" The man yelled. 

"Had we left her unchecked, the wall would've been destroyed eventually." The Commander said calmly. "The ensuing destruction would've been far worst."

I felt my eyes start to close and my body getting weaker. Blood started dripping down the corners of my mouth but I kept on trying to stand straight as the guns pointed at me did not lower.

"So, do you have any proof that this devastating operation of yours has helped prevent the downfall of humankind ?" The man crossed his arms. "I find it unlikely that you'll get anything out of Annie Leonhart now."

"Indeed I doubt we will." Commander Erwin responded, which earned him gasps from everyone in the room.

"In other words...it was all for nothing ?" The man asked.

"Gh-..." Before I had time to hear Commander Erwin's answer, I collapsed.

I tried getting up and apologizing but I was too weak. So I just laid there, a pool of blood forming under me as the Commander placed a hand on my shoulder, trying to keep me awake. 

"Stay with me my child please." He lightly shook my shoulder. "Come on my dear child keep your eyes open."

I grabbed his hand and squeezed it then, consciousness slipped from my body.
