The Guardian's Tale (AOT fanfiction)

As Jean tried to yell for me not to go, I jumped off of the roof and sliced the inside of my hand with the knife. Now was the time...that I had to defy the rules that bound me to being a useless bitch. My eyes widened with shock and relief as a ball of lightning formed over me. I could feel flesh starting to bind my body and I clenched my teeth. This was it...this was my time to finally kill whoever stood in between us and freedom. When I looked back in front of me, I was standing right in front of Reiner and I clenched my fists.

"Shit...judging from how much taller he is that means I'm only 11 meters tall." I muttered. 

I got into my fighting stance and when I looked at him dead in the eyes, I could tell that he was both shocked and scared. Wasting no time, I lunged at him but right before he could grab me, I crystallized my foot and kicked him right in the stomach. The impact threw him onto a nearby house and as I looked back, I saw Armin standing next to Eren on the Wall.

"Alright...I just have to buy enough time for him to come up with a plan." I thought before turning back to Reiner.

"My love...Yuki...what are you doing ?" I heard Reiner's voice say.

Sorry...but I gave my heart and soul to humanity. I charged towards him again, transferring the crystals to my fist. I managed to slip in between his arms and I landed a punch on his face, cracking his armor. Before I could hit him again, he pinned me to the ground and let out an ear-piercing roar. I grinned and emitted steam, using his disorientation to slip from his grasp and kick him into a house. I ran over to him and punched him over and over, preventing him from getting up but I could feel myself getting weaker. 

I fell to my knees as he slowly got up and blood started dripping from my nose and mouth. Shit come on...this can't be all I can do. I looked up and saw him towering over me, before I had time to react, he kicked me off into the Wall. 

"Shit no...come on." I thought. "I have to buy more time."

Suddenly, my heart felt like it had been pierced by a thousand needles and more blood spewed out of my mouth. I could hear Reiner getting closer and I tried to get up but I soon realized that it was useless. Before I could think of a plan, I heard Jean's voice on the outside, telling me to get out. I broke out of my Titan and ripped off the flesh that had formed under my eyes. 

"D-Did I buy enough time ?" I asked, wiping the blood from my face and stepping out completely of my Titan form.

"You did...thanks to you Armin was able to come up with a plan." Jean said as he helped me get up. "Now come on we have to keep him away from Eren. Do you have enough energy ?"

I nodded and took a quick glance at my Titan, curious to see what it looked like. To my surprise, it was almost like the Female Titan except that its eyes were covered by what looked to be armor plates, which were also scattered around the vital points. It also had sharp teeth and hair exactly like mine and when I looked at my reflection on my blade, I noticed that I had vein-like marks under my eyes. Jean tapped my shoulder, snapping me out of my thoughts and I shook my head, focusing on the task at hand.

"Understand ? We're leaving Bertholdt to them." Jean instructed Mikasa, Sasha, Connie and I. "We have to trust they can handle him. As for us, we need to keep Reiner at a safe distance. Fly just close enough to him to get his attention."

As we flew past him, he ignored us and we all stood there, shocked. It looked like he was focused on Eren. 

"Then we'll just have to KILL HIM !" Mikasa yelled as she headed off towards Reiner.

As I followed her, she shot a thunder spear into the back of his knee, causing him to lose his balance and fall. We only had 3 thunder spears left as I lost mine when I took my Titan form but we had to try anyway. Jean handed me his thunder spear and despite Mikasa's offer to do it, I refused. I was gonna be the one to end him...for my own selfish reasons. I landed on a rooftop facing Reiner and I looked at him dead in the eyes, my hands shaking from the fear. I was gonna have to kill him after all...why did things have to be this way ? Mikasa landed next to me and placed her hand on my shoulder to tell me to keep my head in the game. 

Suddenly, we spotted a blast of what looked to be heat from the Colossal Titan. I trained my eyes back to Reiner and clenched my fists. I had to trust them. Jean used himself as bait as Sasha and Connie shot their thunder spears into Reiner's jaw. However, Sasha was hit by rubble and missed. My heart skipped a beat as the scene unraveled before me. No...I was supposed to aim for the nape from inside of his mouth so how...how was I gonna do it ? I clenched the trigger and shifted my feet to distribute most of my weight to my right foot.

"Doesn't matter...I have to try anyway." I thought.

"YUKI IT'S TOO RISKY !" Connie yelled.

"NO IT'S PERFECT !" Hange countered.

She threw her thunder spear into the other side of Reiner's jaw and his mouth fell wide open. As he tried to grab me, I jumped off of the roof and shot my hooks into his arm. I then pushed off and landed on his tongue. This was it...I was going to commit an act I'd never forgive myself for. 

"Reiner..." I said as I brushed over my ring. "I hope you'll forgive me one day....This...is your last stand. I love you...I'm sorry."

I shot the thunder spear right into his mouth and as it exploded, I felt heat scorch my skin and shrapnel from the spear cut my body, the impact throwing me back onto the house below. Blood spewed out of my mouth as Hange landed next to me.

"Yuki are you alright ?!" She asked.

"I'm..." I looked down at my left hand. "Yeah...I'm fine."

She helped me get up and just as we were about to get the others, we heard a loud noise and when we turned around, the Colossal Titan was falling. No way...had they done it ?
