The Guardian's Tale (AOT fanfiction)

-The Castle pt.2-

Connie and Ymir sealed the door with 2 wooden planks as I sat Reiner down. I grabbed the bottle of alcohol that one of the Scouts had found earlier and poured it gently on his wound.

"I know...I'm sorry." I apologized as he winced. "The bone's most likely fractured too...we'll need a splint and a bandage. Easy enough, I hate skirts anyway." I said as I got up.

I ripped off my skirt, revealing a pair of shorts and boots underneath. I looked over at Reiner and slightly rolled my eyes. Of course he'd stare. I wrapped part of it around his wound and used the rest to wrap it around his neck and hold his arm up.

"Marry me." He mumbled.

"Hmm ? What was that ?" I asked as I hadn't heard properly.

"N-Nothing..." He said as he blushed and stood up.

"Say Bertholdt...has Reiner always been like this ?" I asked. "The self-sacrificing type ?"

"No...he's changed a bit. In the old days...Reiner was more of a warrior." He replied as the look on the blonde's face changed for a split second.

"Warrior ? I'm not quite sure I understand." He said, confused. "A-Anyway...Yuki are you gonna be alright ? You're in uhm..." He cleared his throat. "In shorts."

I smiled and nodded as I took his free hand. We then all agreed to look for things that we could use. As Ymir and I looked outside the window, we looked back at each other, shocked. Most of the Titans had already been wiped out by the Scouts. As we heard rocks crash against the walls, we ran back up to the tower. 2 of the Scouts had been killed. At least they died instantly. Suddenly I gasped and headed to the edge of the tower.

"Wait...HE did this ! The one who made a  beeline for the wall." I growled. "The son of a bitch is randomly-" My voice trailed off as I saw a horde of Titan heading towards us. "HEADS UP ! WE'VE GOT TWICE AS MANY AS BEFORE !" My eyes widened. "It's like...they're timing these attacks...This isn't random...that means that that beast looking Titan is a shifter..."

Titans suddenly started hitting the tower, trying to get it to fall. We helplessly watched as the 2 last Scouts got eaten. 

"God dammit now what ?!" I exclaimed as I slammed my hand on a rock. "We sit around waiting for the tower to collapse and let ourselves get eaten alive ? IF ONLY I WASN'T SO GOD DAMN WEAK ! IF I COULD TRANSFORM JUST ONE FUCKING TIME ! Just...one..." I fell to my knees, staring at the sky and searching for a sign from my brother. "No...once I get down there I'll surely transform..." I said as I slowly got up and walked to the edge.

"YUKI STOP ! DO YOU WANT TO DIE THAT BADLY ?!" Reiner yelled as he grabbed my wrist.

"YES I DO REINER ! I'VE WANTED TO DIE EVERY SECOND OF MY DAMNED LIFE ! DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TIMES PEOPLE BLAMED ME FOR MY MOM'S DEATH ?! HOW MANY TIMES I'VE BEEN CALLED A MONSTER ?! DO YOU KNOW HOW FUCKING BADLY I WANT TO FUCKING DIE EVERY DAMN DAY ?! AND DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I'VE TRIED ?! SO LET ME GO DOWN FIGHTING AS HARD AS I CAN LIKE MY BROTHER !" I yelled back as my eyes filled with tears. "I...I..." I looked up at his face which was now filled with shock and sadness. "I'm sorry...I didn't...mean to tell you that." I placed my hand over my eye and shook my head as he wrapped his free arm around my waist.

"Yuki...where's that knife you gave to Connie ?" Ymir asked as her and Christa were done arguing.

"H-Huh ? Oh uhm...here." I grabbed it from my boot and handed it to her.

"You're very sweet thanks darling." She said as she patted my head.

"Thanks..." I gave her a small smile. "What do you even need it for anyway ?"

She walked over to Christa and said something that sounded like her last words. She then jumped off of the tower, sliced her hand and surely enough, a ball of yellow lightning appeared around her. Once it disappeared, a small Titan with sharp teeth revealed itself. As she started fighting, I rolled up my sleeve and sunk my fangs into my arm.

"YUKI WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ?!" Reiner asked. "You know the Guardian Titan can't transform if the inheritor is ill !"

"I'm t-...Hang on..." I slowly turned to him. "How...did you know that Reiner ? Only..." I shook my head. "N-No never-mind I probably told you before."

"Yuki you have to save Ymir ! We have to join forces !" Christa exclaimed.

"I'm sorry we have to what ?" I let out a dark laugh. "Oh my that has to be the funniest thing I've heard all year." I grabbed the collar of her shirt. "I said it before and I'll say it again. I will NEVER help you, let alone bow to you." I tossed her down. "And cut the shit with that good girl act. I know who you really are." I picked up a piece of stone sharp enough to cut my skin. "C'mon just this once." I mumbled.

I cut my forearm but nothing happened. I sliced my arm over and over until Reiner caught my wrist.

"ENOUGH !" He yelled. "STOP IT ! YOU KNOW IT'S USELESS !" He looked down at me, staring dead in my eyes. "Please Yuki...don't...I need you." He pleaded before I reluctantly threw the bloody rock away.

"Fuck it..." I mumbled under my breath as I looked over at Reiner. "I'm sorry...I really am..." I kissed him on the cheek and jumped down to help Ymir.

I crystallized my fingers to be able to hang on to the tower and nodded at her. I jumped into the horde of Titans and used the crystal on my fingers to turn them into claws. In what seemed to be a distant place, I heard Reiner's screams, begging me to come back. I ignored them the best I could and kept slashing at Titans, burning them and doing whatever I could.
