Chapter 25

Narrator's POV

Jongkook waited for Somin to change. After minutes which felt like hours, Somin opened the car door. Jongkook glanced at her, only to be looking again. She was wearing a denim shirt dress and a black belt wrapped around her waist. She let her hair down and tucked it behind her ear. Somin was wearing a light makeup, with her cheeks slightly pink and her lips glossed a light red.

She got in the car and adjusted her outfit. "It's rare to see you wearing dresses like this," Jongkook said, still staring at her. "Right? I've always worn fancy dresses. Thought that I'd wear it for our date," She smiled cheekily. "Did you notice anything?" She asked. Jongkook checked her out from head to toe. But he couldn't get anything particular about it.

"Uh, you're wearing a belt?" He replied hesitantly. Somin glared at him. "You're pretty?" He complimented her half-heartedly. She snickered but she shooked her head. "Then?" He gave up. She then gestured her hands towards her clothes and his clothes.

Jongkook examined their clothes and realised. "Oh, we're kind of wearing matching clothes," He smiled happily, secretly liking the idea of matching clothes. Jongkook was wearing a black shirt and denim jeans while Somin was wearing denim shirt dress and a black belt.

She nodded excitedly. "Anyways, how do I look?" She posed dramatically, crossing her legs. Jongkook arched an eyebrow. "Well, you look the same as before," He teased her, only to get a punch on the arm from Somin. "I mean, you look pretty as always," He pinched her cheek gently before driving off to a place without telling her.

"Wow, what is this place?" Somin's eyes widened as she stepped out of the car. It was only 11am so the sun was still bright yet, it felt refreshing and warm enough. Jongkook looked at Somin and smiled, adoring her surprised look. "It's beautiful, right?" He asked, grabbing a mat from the car.

"Its Dongmak Beach. Have you not visited this place before?" Jongkook removed his sandals before stepping onto the sand. "I haven't. How did you know about this place?" Somin questioned, removing her black sandals too.

"I came here a couple of times when I'm free. Haven't told a single soul about this place except for you. Its quiet and calm here so I love it," He answered, placing the mat on the soft sand near the calm wave. He gestured for Somin to sit down. "Really? Alone?" She asked again.

He nodded. "It's like a secret gem of mine. As you can see, there's not alot of people. It's only 11am too so it's basically just you and me here," He looked around his surroundings, only to see kids from afar running around.

"It's beautiful," She acknowledged the view, captivating its scenery with the calm wave and soft breeze. Jongkook looked at her and smiled softly. "It is," He replied, still looking at her without realising that he was complimenting her instead.

Somin turned her gaze towards Jongkook who was quiet, only to find him staring at her. It was common to turn away when someone catch you staring at them but Jongkook boldly kept staring at her without care. Somin got flustered and felt her face getting warm.

"W..what are you looking at?" She looked behind her to see the empty beach, full of seagulls only, purposely to avoid his gaze. "You," He straightforwardly answered. "You're crazy," She fanned herself, not getting used to Jongkook's bold side.

Jongkook's POV

It was pretty. My view. I leaned back to see Somin with the beach scenery infront of her. The sunlight shone on her face made her look as if she was glowing. Without realising, I was staring at her with a smile. I only realised when Somin asked me about what I was looking at.

I chuckled softly at Somin's shyness. I took out my phone and took a photo of the scenery. I secretly took a photo of Somin after she stopped fanning herself. I was still capturing the moment with my phone, trying to take a landscape picture of her and the view but she turned her gaze on me, making me startled.

"Oh? Oppa, were you taking pictures?" She took my phone that dropped and scrolled through the gallery. I quickly snatched my phone away. "Of me? Without my permission?" She crossed her arms. I scoffed. "I thought that was my line. You sound like an old woman now."

"That doesn't even relate to anything. I looked horrible, let me delete those," She tried to reach out for my phone but I pulled away. "No, you look fine," I assured her. "Just give me, you old man," She took my phone and looked at the picture I took of her. "I look horrible, what do you mean? Let me take it myself," She suddenly posed for a selfie and I laughed out loud.

"You weirdo, I don't want a selfie of you," I took my phone back and casually positioned it to take a photo of her. Somin quickly posed naturally, making me laugh. I smiled, admiring how pretty she was with the wind blowing her baby hair gently and the sunlight lightly shining onto her face.

"Pretty," I blurted out while taking the picture. She smiled shyly so I captured it swiftly. "Alright, let's take a picture together now," She snatched my phone and put it on selfie mode. I scooted closer to her and wrapped my arm around her.

Somin's POV

Both of us smiled and posed differently for each photo. I don't even know how many pictures we took. I had an idea for a pose so I moved nearer to Jongkook oppa. "1..2.." He counted down and i quickly kissed him on the cheek.

I snapped the picture and viewed it. I giggled at Jongkook oppa's reaction in the photo. "Hey! How can you do that without telling me?" He complained as I laughed once again. "Do you not like it? Alright, I'll delete it then," I teased him and jokingly pressed the delete button, which I haven't comfirmed to delete yet.

"Wait no, I like it," He pressed the 'Cancel' option swiftly. "Oh my, oppa. You're surprisingly cute at times," I patted his hair gently. I turned my attention on his hair, adjusting it since the wind was blowing strongly.

I felt Jongkook oppa's hand holding onto my waist as I dusted off the sand off his hair.

Narrator's POV

Jongkook fixed his eyes on Somin's lips as she got closer to him to fix his hair. His heart was beating rapidly and his smile got more harder to suppress. "Was it possible? To fall in love so fast?" He thought to himself. He realised that the older he got, the love for his lover will deepen.

"Somin, I..." He trailed off his words. "Hm?" She mumbled, still adjusting his hair. "I think I like you alot," Jongkook confessed. It made Somin stopped her actions, stunned at his words. She faced Jongkook with a confused expression.

"What do you mean?" She sat on the mat properly as Jongkook removed his hands off her waist. "No. Wait. I don't like you alot," He took back his words, which left Somin dazed. "I love you, Somin-ah. I..oh my god, this is so sudden but I...adore you," He chuckled to himself in disbelief that he's confessing to her in broad daylight and in a sober state.

Somin was surprised at his sudden confession but her eyes softened. Jongkook looked up as she still hadn't said anything for a few seconds. "I said the wrong thing, didn't I? I'm sorry. Let's just forget ab-" Somin cut him off with a peck on the lips.

"Words are not needed to explain someone's love to another," Somin charmingly said and hugged him. "I adore you too, oppa. You make me feel things that I've never felt before so, thank you," Jongkook hugged her tightly in return and beamed.

"What a day," A male voice interrupted their moment.
