Chapter 36

Narrator's POV

2 Months Later

It was D-day. The 10 years anniversary of Running Man. It was finally the time of the fanmeeting. The dances and songs that the members have rehearsed a countless times. 

3 hours before the concert

"Alright, guys! Our last rehearsal before the official stage. I just want to say that you guys did great and I can't explain how proud and happy I am as your dance mentor. Let's give ourselves a round of applause," The dance mentor, Lia Kim, announced and everyone started clapping loudly with cheers and words of encouragement.

"5...4..and 3,2,1," She counted as the Running Man members went serious and started their formation. After 5 minutes, the dance ended. As they finished, they clapped and their smiles were so wide, it reached their eyes.

They rested for awhile before rehearsing other parts of the fanmeeting. "I'm so nervous, unnie!" Somin held Jihyo's hand and squeezed it. Jihyo looked at her and grinned. She patted Somin's hand in assurance. "You'll do great. I just know it," Jihyo comforted her.

The corner of Somin's lips tugged upwards and her nose scrunched. "Can't wait to show our fans our dance together. What a dream," Somin excitedly squealed. Jihyo laughed at her adorableness and patted her back.

An hour passed and Somin head to the bathroom. She saw Jongkook coming out of the men's bathroom. "Oh, oppa!" She called out to him. "Somin-ah," His poker face turned into a happy one as he saw her. She linked arms with him as they walked slowly. She totally forgot about the plan to go to the bathroom.

"Can you still do it?" She teased him about  their dance. He scoffed. "Please, we have rehearsed it more than 200 times, I think. Don't worry," Jongkook pinched her cheeks softly before crossing his arms. Her hand was still on his arm and his biceps made her hand squeezed. She tsk-ed before pulling away.

He laughed. A smile overtook Somin's face and she continued to talk about how she felt nervous and excited before they reached the waiting room. The Running Man members were in the waiting room with their stylists and managers. They were busy as ever. And super nervous.

"Alright. Now, can we get the Running Man members here? Stylists and managers, please excuse us. Thank you," Jaeseok announced like the leader he was. The stylists and managers went out of the room, leaving only the members.

"Are we about to do those cringy cheer where we put our hands in together?" Haha joked, knowing damn well he actually likes it. Jaeseok scoffed but then nodded. "Whatever. Hands in," Kwangsoo placed his hand out first. Followed by Jihyo and the rest.

"1...2...3...Running Man, fighting!" They cheered as loud as they can and did a dramatic group hug. Although they may fight, argue and tease each other like kids, they know how much they cherish each other. Sometimes, you don't need to point out your love when you can just show it by smiling with them.

An hour and 45 minutes left

Somin was more nervous than she was when reconciling with Sechan. She sat at the corner of the room, daydreaming as noises filled the atmosphere by the other members chatting. Sechan noticed her nervousness. "Hey, don't be so anxious. We all know you'll do fine," He comforted her.

She snapped out her daydream zone and thought before speaking. "If you think about it, it's our first time being with a huge crowd of our fans. The other members have experienced it but not us," She explained and fiddled with her hands. Sechan laughed at her.

She glared at him in response. "Just think of it as another day," He suggested. "This is not just 'another day'. It's THE day," Somin argued and emphasised her words. Sechan patted her shoulder and nodded. "Well, you are right. All we have to do is put our best effort into the performance," He smirked slightly.

"Can't wait for the end of the whole performance," He whispered suspiciously to himself. "Huh?" She asked. He shooked his head and waved his hand as a dismissal. "Nevermind now. I'll get going. My stylist is going to kill me if I sit around in my comfy clothes for another minute. See you later,"  He waved and walked off.

Somin was confused but shrugged her shoulders off and went back to zoning out. She heard someone cleared their throat forcefully and she jerked in surprise. "What are you thinking about?" Jongkook took a seat beside her and crossed his legs.

She relaxed and leaned back on the chair. She sighed. "Too lazy to explain again. Just nervous," She simply answered, earning a tsk from him. "You can explain to Sechan but not to me?" He asked.

Somin rolled her eyes. "Don't be dramatic," She replied. "Yeah yeah. Still haven't got a thanks for helping you and Sechan become best friends again," Jongkook insisted like a kid.

"Its been 2 months or so, and you are still talking about that?" She snickered. "Just saying that I deserve a thanks," He put up his hands in defensive. "I thanked you more than 100 times, oppa. What more do you want?" She questioned, making him smirk.

"Oh, I don't know. A hug?" Jongkook suggested. Somin let out a small giggle. "Just tell me if you want a hug. Don't need to beat around the bushes," She shooked her head in disbelief. "What about now? Will you hug me now if I told you I want one?" He childishly demanded.

"What are you? Crazy? In front of our family?" Somin referred to the RM members. He shrugged and put his around her shoulders, pulling her closer to him by his side. She scoffed. Jongkook got tempted and went from her shoulders to her head. He started messing up her hair.

"Oppa!" She pushed his hand away and adjusted her hair. "My hair stylist is going to kill you. Oh my gosh," She complained and pinched his cheek hardly. He winced and tickled her. She laughed and struggled to move away.

"Look at those two. They are crazy, indeed," Jaeseok stopped talking about his story as he laid his eyes on Jongkook, who was tickling Somin. The other members turned their heads and saw them. They smiled, knowing well about what was going to happen and they felt genuinely excited about it.

After an hour or so, they finally got on the big stage. Fans welcoming with an applause and a loud cheers. Huge banners were seen everywhere with words of encouragment. It was surreal for the members. And like that, they knew that they wanted this moment to never end.
