Good things happened. Finally the ministry has acknowledged that Voldemort was back, and he was causing much havoc in the world. Umbridge is taken under investigation with a little help from the Greengrass family and the ever so demanding Missus Zabini, and further more at least for Finley's benefit, she no longer was needed to hide under a false identity.
But the good things weren't enough.
Sitting on the bed in the hospital wing, looking down on her hands, shaking still, she was shaking again, much like in her third year but less noticeable. She hated the shaking feeling, she hated the burning sensation on her mark, she hated all of it. She felt caged and powerless when in truth she felt most powerful now that she needed to vent all the excess power out. But how?
All around her, she was being treated like a queen, Slytherins who found out about her return were thrilled that they came to visit her as soon as they were allowed to. She has seen Blaise, Theo, and Astoria. A surprise visit from Pansy, but not from Draco. She could only feel dread that she hasn't seen or heard from Draco since she was confined in the hospital wing, he was going to hate her because it was because she was there when the aurors arrested his father. Lucius Malfoy deserved Azkaban, but his family didn't deserve the consequences of him being there.
"Finney Bear, we brought you snacks," Blaise spoke, sitting beside her on a stool while Astoria was right behind him with another book in hand. It has become a routine to bring her new things to do, and she loved her friends for it. Though it took a while for Astoria to stop calling Finley, Blythe, but that wasn't a complete problem.
"Where's Draco?" She croaked. Admittedly, this was the nth time she asked for the self proclaimed Slytherin prince. Ever since she woke up, every visit, every Slytherin who came, she would always ask.
Both Theo and Blaise knew where the boy was, but they doubt that he wanted to see them. "Doesn't he want to see me?"
"He needs time."
Of course she knows that he needed time, his father was going to Azkaban, and she couldn't help but feel like it was her damn fault. Looking back down on her shaking fingers, the tingling sensation that she has in them, she wanted to see Draco, she really does.
"Pomfrey says that you can leave, do you want us to help you pack for the summer break?" Astoria asks her, receiving a 'no' from Finley. Standing up from the bed, wearing a shirt tucked into a skirt that Astoria brought her as she is being discharged from the hospital wing before they leave. She hugs herself, feeling so small as everything was going to crash down at any moment now. "Finn?" Theo called to her softly, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"Do you want us to walk with you to the common room? I'm sure everyone would want to see you."
She shakes her head. She just wanted to be alone, for now, she really does want to be alone. Unlike Harry who says he doesn't want anyone around him, but he secretly does, she on the other hand only wanted one person with her, and he wasn't there. "I'll see you in the common room," she mutters under her breath, walking the opposite direction.
Instead of the dead silence in the halls, the paintings were back, politely greeting her for her safe discharge from being confined. She couldn't help but walk faster, not wanting to have interaction with other people yet. Running up the stairs, the farther that she went up, the less likely she was going to have energy to get back down before curfew. Seeing a forming door, she sprinted towards that door, opening it and slamming it closed.
As soon as she was inside, she crashed, and she burned. Tears started falling from her eyes, her hiccups started to become wails, heart shattered at what had happened a couple of days prior. How she lost so much.
