News around someone attempting to poison the headmaster spread like wildfire, most were shocked and afraid that they would've been the targets though it was unlikely. Some weren't surprised at all to know that it was Ron Weasley who took the fall of drinking it on accident, not that they wanted him to die, except maybe Lavender Brown."How did Weasley exactly break up with corky screw Blondie?" Daphne asked as she narrowed her eyes at the seething Gryffindor blonde who sat the table over. It was by far the most 'normal' morning the Greengrass girls had, add the part where Finley and Pansy were in the same area of the table together without the backhanded insults was pushing something.
"Ginger boy woke up and called for the wrong name," Millicent Boulstrode replied as she continued with her breakfast. Not that any of the Slytherin girls minded the Gryffindor drama, it was a fresh gossip for them because the Slytherins were too good with keeping their skeletons locked in the closet. "I heard her wails from the Astronomy tower."
"I would want to say that I'm sorry for her, but I have come to remember how much of a bitch she was," Pansy butts in, stabbing an egg from her plate.
"And to hear you say that, it's as if you weren't the same before," Finley pipes up, brow raised at the short-haired girl who scoffed but did not say anything in return. "Which reminds me, I need my Ancient Runes to book back, you've hogged it for a month now."
"Well, it's not like you've been going to class yourself."
"I don't see why it's any of your business, is it?" Finley frowned.
"What is going on?" Daphne hears Astoria's confused whisper as she looked at two girls who were often found bantering within 10ft radius. Now they were arguing about something commonly seen between friends. "Since when were they, friends?"
"No, you bitch. I said screw off if you weren't going to do my homework."
"Wow, and you deliberately forgot how I covered your ass with your late-night rendezvous huh?"
This was frightening. At least to those who had not seen both Finley and Pansy have a normal conversation before, which was not a lot of people. If memory served them right, both girls were in each other's necks for the one boy the other girl was currently dating. Remember how both girls would attack each other like territorial predators guarding their territory.
"Something will happen," Millicent whispered to the sisters. "The universe does not settle for things like this, this day seems so peaceful."
"You're going to jinx it!" Astoria scolded the older girl who sat next to her sister.
"Jinx what?" A new voice spoke from behind the girls (apart from Finley and Pansy who continued arguing).
Blaise stood behind them looking as confused and concerned as the girls were as they stared at Pansy and Finley who were previously fighting, they were now snorting and laughing. "What the—"
"Don't jinx it too!" Daphne scolds the boy, pulling him next to her in between her and Astoria. "They've been having one-on-one lessons in the common room."
"Since when?" Blaise blinked in surprise.
"Since last November," Astoria informed him after pouring Blaise a glass of water. "Finley was falling behind in a couple of subjects, Pansy was taking a few of them and offered to tutor."
"Are you sure we're talking about the same Finley and Pansy here?" Blaise asked still not believing what he was witnessing. Two sworn enemies were having a good laugh and small banters, never had it crossed his mind for his prideful Finley to have a civilized conversation with her rival.
