Staying with Mirelle Thorns in her loft in London was filled with shopping and eating, she was spoiled so much that she barely could lift a finger with chores because Mirelle Thorns had her own house elves that adored her. Over the summer she grew a few inches taller, he hair grew longer and she met up with Theo and Blaise at least three times in the summer. She constantly exchanged owls with Hermione and Ron but none came back from Harry. She was worried about what might've happened to her friend and why hasn't he owled back, even with Mirelle telling her that it was okay, she knew it wasn't.
"Minou, Hermione owled. She said she was going to pick up her things on Wednesday," Ms Thorns said as she entered the balcony of her London loft.
It was then that Finley was reading another book on potions when Mirelle entered, she placed her book down. "Has my Hogwarts letter arrived yet?" She asked.
The whole summer she missed how she wasn't in the comfort of her room in Cokeworth, more so she wasn't in her room in the Slytherin dorms. She owled Professor Snape numerous times and all she received were short replies.
Her mood improved once the french woman gave her an envelope, she almost snatched the envelope and opened hit with haste. Then her mood dropped again.
"What's wrong?" Ms Thorns asked the girl.
Finley wanted to gag, whoever was their next DADA Professor must be a lunatic, she gave the letter to Mirelle Thorns and took a bite of a tart. Mirelle sighed causing Finley to cringe, "Honestly, I will never understand what you see in him," she cringed.
Mirelle laughed as she pinched the girl's cheek, "I'll have you know that Mr Lockhart is a handsome man, he has achieved so much—"
"Ms Thorns, you only like him because he's good looking," Finley dead panned, it was quite obvious too as the 20 year old woman swooned at the name alone.
"I don't—" the woman was bright red.
Finley laughed as her reaction begs to differ.
"I'll owl Ron that I'll be joining Hermione to shop for school things, will you be joining us?" She asked her guardian. Of course she was going, she never misses the opportunity of shopping with her favourite child, she loved the girl like her own.
"I suppose I'll also Owl Professor Snape for your allowance?" Thorns asked. Finley shook her head, because weeks after summer started, Snape gave her a key to a vault in Gringotts. It was a vault just for her and she didn't know where it came from, she expects that it contains just enough money for her and it wasn't Snape's.
"We'll be going to Gringotts first," she said.
"I guess we should go now if you want to go straight to buying things on Wednesday," Thorns said as she grabbed her coat from the chair.
Agreeing with the woman, Finley ran inside her room in the woman's loft, she took the key and her coat. Slipping on her shoes and taking her beret that Ms Thorns had given her, she was ready.
Arriving in Gringotts half an hour later, Finley and Mirelle Thorns were escorted to the deepest vaults, not being told which unit it was.
Mirelle was skeptical as thy travelled to the lowest levels, she didn't think Severus was rich and the only explanation was that Finley's parents were rich. But it wasn't the case for the deepest were for the oldest families, if Finley was part of the oldest families in the wizarding world she would've known.
"Vault 04," the goblin said. The large double doors looked like the were encrusted from obsidian, black gold as its frame made it intimidating. Mirelle was intimidated and no doubt Finley was too, giving the goblin the key, he unlocked it. The sound of a thud was heard, it wasn't anything like numerous gears turning or a the sound of a small click. It was a door shaking thud, the door slowly opened revealing gold. Not just galleons and knuts or sickles, literal bars of gold.
"I doubt that these are actually mine," Finley found herself saying, awestruck at the sight. Handing her a small bag, the goblin looked strict of his time.
"Just take what we need," Mirelle said. She needed to speak to Severus after the trip, she needed an explanation. She eyes the golden Runpoor statue in the back of the vault, it's emerald eyes fixated on the girl who gathered galleons and sickles.
After gathering the amount they needed, they were escorted out the vault, sitting down next to each other waiting for the cart to leave the cold levels. "How about we go and treat ourselves hm?"
Wednesday, Finley almost didn't want to leave her bed if not for Cassian pestering her for treats. She almost owled Hermione that she was sick even if she wasn't. She almost did, but she didn't for Mirelle had charmed her alarm clock to be extremely loud if she ever slept in.
"Merlin child, you should get ready! We leave in an hour," Mirelle scolded the young girl who sat on the table with hair disheveled.
"Dewy, some pancakes for Finney would you?"
"Yes Miss, Dewy would love to serve you miss," the house elf said as she began cooking pancakes.
Mirelle pulling the girl back to her feet, she took the girl's hand and dragged her back to her room and into the bathroom. "Now bathe yourself, we have a lot of books to buy," Mirelle had said as she left the girl to her own devices.
No other choice but to comply, Finley took a quick bath, quickest as she counted it being extremely cold that it woke her up immediately.
Taking upon herself to finally make the effort of dressing up today, she decided to wear a skirt and a long sleeved blouse with her beige cloak and beret. Her choice of shoes she thought of quite thoroughly, in the end she took a pair of black ankle boots. She tied her green ribbon in her hair in a high ponytail, for a moment she thought herself to be finally pretty. Not that she wasn't because she was beautiful, she was reminded of that by Mirelle everyday since they have first met.
Her emerald green eyes sparkled, her dark hair long and naturally curled, her skin fair without blemishes of whatever. She barely looked at herself in the mirror for some reason and now that she had, she loved every inch of her.
"Finney, breakfast will get cold!" Mirelle called out. Finally tearing her eyes away from the mirror, she went and proceeded to the kitchen to see a stack of blueberry pancakes that made her mouth water.
"Dewy, I love you," she sighed as she finally sat on the table taking a fork on hand and digging in her food.
The house elf thanked her repeatedly as her face was flustered at the girl's verbal words of affection. It was literally impossible for anyone to not like the girl in first glance, well unless you're Pansy Parkinson who may or may not have sworn an oath to out right destroy her.
"Come on, we go on floo," Mirelle Thorns said as she grabbed her wand and her coat. Finley had just finished her glass of orange juice, getting the pouch of money that she withdrawn from Gringotts days before.
"Diagon Alley!"
