The first thing Finley ever did since she got back to Hogwarts was to sneak out. Using the marauders map, and her dad's invisibility cloak, she wandered in the passage leading to the old Hogshead pub. The only place mentioned to be the safest to have meetings in terms of something top secret. Once she opened the trap door to on the basement section of the pub, it was her time to use the invisibility cloak til she got out to the area where the customers were. Thankfully, her shoes were soft, she could barely make a sound in them, as she went up the stairs to the main building, she could see that there were barely any people in it.
There were only a few people in the pub, and a goat too, but there was one that she needed to see and speak to. Approaching a tall woman who almost reached the ceiling, she could barely fit herself in the small seats that she asked for a bigger chair.
Even for a couple of months, nearly a year of not seeing each other, Finley was still intimidated by the giantess that she used to call her head mistress.
"Madame," she finally spoke as she stood beside the woman, seeing the woman slightly, instantly relaxing. Finley took off the cloak, revealing her red hair, and her green eyes, under the cloak she wore her Slytherin sweater. Something she literally wore from when she was on the train, she skipped the welcome back feast to meet with her old Head mistress as soon as she saw the raven.
"I found your raven, you wished to speak with me?" She inquires, speaking french in caution for the ears that might over hear them.
"Mademoiselle Potter," the giantess sighed. "I see that you are still well and alive, how are you?"
Finley pursed her lips, not sure if it was going to br smart to tell the woman that she was suffering because of her curse again, and besides that was a toad woman making her life times more harder. "I'm doing well, for now at least," she says, sitting down in front of Madame Maxime.
"I hope that the spell I had given you helped?" She asks her causing Finley to gulp down.
"Yes, it did," she says. "It had been helpful to get information fast, and with the hindrance here, intercepting owls, it's handy."
"Not that one."
She felt her throat dry, nodding towards the woman before sitting down facing her, her hands were sweating as her chest got heavier by the second. "It helped, and hopefully I won't be needing it anytime soon," she says looking down on the table in shame.
Olympe Maxime looked down at her former student in sadness, if there were any other way, then it would've been an answer she had given her. Seeing as there was not, she after all only had two lives left to live, a talented witch like her to be lost in a war would be a great loss to the wizarding world. She placed a gloved hand on Finley's bare one, even with her glove, the girl's cold skin seeped through hers, she thought twice about retracting it.
"You will need it," Olympe says in English, her french accent heavy that it made Finley shiver slightly. "As hard as your task will be, the important thing is that the war is going to need you there."
"And what of Harry?" She asks, looking up towards Madame Maxime, not in curiosity but in demand. The information that Draco told her circulated in her mind once again, one that she wished she didn't know at all and should've remained ignorant of, at least for a short while.
"He will need you too, little fairy," the woman assures her with a comforting smile, but it was anything but that. She felt the pressure, she felt the skin on her shoulder burning, her hands pulsating in agitation, it was as if she was going insane.
"How? If I die—"
"You will not," the Madame snapped sharply. "With what you did, you will always live—"
