Chapter 42

You hung around nervously at the gym as you waited for Yamaguchi to arrive. You had just spent the day running around after Nekoma and although you'd had a little bit of fun hanging out with Lev and Inuoka, you were sick and tired of Kuroo's constant joking.

You anxiously fiddled with the volleyballs as you put them away and busied yourself with sweeping the floor when Kuroo, Lev, Akaashi and Bokuto entered the gym.

"Hey (Y/N)!" Kuroo called out to you as you quickly spun around.

"Kuroo?" you asked.

"You waiting for someone?" he asked as you nodded.

"Really?" he grinned, "well we're all gonna practice some volleyball"

"We are?" Lev asked, he was already dreading what was going to happen.

"Yeah you suck at blocking!" Kuroo told him.

"Oh well I guess he won't come here then, oh hey Tsukki!" you called out as you saw your friend walk past the door.

"Huh?" he asked as he looked over at you.

"Hey that's Karasuno's four eyes he's a blocker right?" Bokuto asked and you nodded.

"Hey why don't you block for us?" Kuroo asked.

"Ummm I'm actually done practicing for today, why can't you get someone from Fukorodani to help you?" Tsukki asked, irritated.

"They all tend to avoid Bokuto because his spike practice is endless" Akaashi explained.

"Yeah and I gotta train that guy" Kuroo said as he motioned to a collapsed Lev on the floor.

"I can jump all the blocks!" Lev protested.

You looked worriedly at Lev for a second, they hadn't even started practice but he was already passing out on the floor.

"Tsukki do you know where Tadashi is?" you asked as you quickly helped Lev off of the floor.

"He said he was going to practice serves or something" Tsukishima muttered.

"Okay thank you!" you said as you quickly ran out of the gym.

"Why're they in such a rush?" Bokuto asked as Kuroo just grinned.

"Just leave them to it, and glasses come help us block" he said to Tsukki.

"No" Tsukki replied.

"I thought you were a middle blocker shouldn't you practice blocking a bit more?" Kuroo asked as he grinned.

Tsukishima gripped his fists in irritation as he walked into the gym. Kuroo just smiled, he knew Tsukki wouldn't refuse something like that.

While that was happening, you had made your way to the next gym over. You carefully peeked around the door to see your best friend hitting serves.

"Tadashi?" you called out.

He stopped and turned around to face you.

"Oh hey (Y/N)" he smiled as he dropped the ball and ran over to you.

"Is now a good time?" you asked.

"It's perfect, sorry I didn't come and find you sooner, I was just trying to calm myself down first" he explained.

"Calm yourself down?" you asked as he nodded and took your hands in his.

He took a deep breath before he finally began to talk.

"You know how we talked about keeping secrets?" he asked as you nodded. "Well I had a big one" he finally stated. "But after coming here I realised that if I didn't tell you now, I might lose you and I don't think I could live with losing you" he began to squeeze your hands tighter as his heart began to beat out of his chest.
