Lucy's POV

Am I dead?

No, I can't be. How could I be dead when I am hearing everyones voices. I hear the nurse occasionally, I hear my father talk about his day. My friends I also sometimes hear, but up until today I had not heard Hermione yet.

"Hey Lucy, they finally finished the Mandrake restorative draught and everyone is awake again including me." I heard her say. "I just hope you wake up soon too."

Wake up. That is the request I hear multiple times a day. It's not like I am not trying. I am constantly trying to figure out how to open my eyes, but each time I just wear myself out and end up falling into a dream.

At this point I feel like there is no reason in trying anymore. I try to move my hands but they won't. I try to open my eyes but they won't. Move my hands..come on.

Wait.

"Guys look!" I hear Hermione.

"Did you see that? Her hand moved."

"Are you sure?" Ron asked surprised.

"Yes, her hand definitely moved! We have to get Madam Pomfrey."

No..I am slipping again. Back into a dream. But at least this time I was actually able to move for the first time. Maybe soon I can finally wake up.

— Time Skip —

I woke up from another dream about Shadow. I somehow feel much more awake now than I ever have.

Come on, maybe I can move my hand again. But suddenly I feel an itch in my eye. I go to scratch it and just in that moment realised that I felt my hand touching my eye. I actually did it! I can wake up now, come on I can do it.

And in that moment my eyes finally opened for the first time again. My vision was blurry but soon adjusted. It was night time which is probably why my eyes were able to stay open and not like last time when I woke up and the sun was blinding me.

My body did not feel too sore, but more weak. I could barely move my head to scan the room. I didn't see any other patients at first but then all of a sudden I spotted Jennie in the bed next to mine. She was still wearing her uniform and was fast asleep.

"Jen.." I wasn't able to fully say her name, but thankfully my voice was loud enough for her to hear.

Her eyes shot open and she immediately jumped off the bed and crouched down to my level.

"I thought you would never wake up." She said teary eyed. "I came here after class today to check on you, I must have fallen asleep. Oh you have no idea how happy I am to see you awake."

I didn't have enough strength to say anything anymore and I think she noticed, I just gave her a slow blink and as much as a smile as I could form.

"It is almost 6am, how about we stay awake together and then I can tell the nurse that you woke up." Jennie grinned, looking at her pocket watch.

I gave her another slow blink to indicate my approval.

So Jennie sat on my bed and told me everything that had happened in the past weeks until I could see the sun beginning to rise. She kept making sure that I wouldn't fall asleep. I guess she was worried I wouldn't wake up again.
